Grhh, not sure if it's their servers refreshing or something but still not seeing the Samsung app on my 6100.

The PS3 isn't in the living room but in a bedroom that's the problem. I have two 360s, a newer Slim model (with Gold membership) which lives next to the PS3 and the old Premium (with a silver account) which is now in the living room and can be used as a media player.

Hopefully Samsung/Netflix will get the app to work on D5000. I've asked on Twitter about it being released on the D5000 and noticed someone else had also asked so hopefully if more people also ask, they may just release it.

So why don't you logon with your gold account onto your Premium console? This is now even easier after the latest update as your account can be easily downloaded onto the other console.

Quick question (possibly stupid): Is accessing US Netflix from here in any way 'forbidden'? For example, will they ban you if they discover it? I'm accessing it with my UK account but I don't want to if it will have adverse consequences.

I know we can do that, the problem there though is if I'm using my 360 Slim and someone else wants to use Netflix, etc on the Premium, they can't.

Does anyone know if Netflix is going to be released on Panasonic Blu-Ray players?

It is in the states. I imagine that some companies are just slow to put out updated firmware.

I have an LG LW550T Cinema 3D set I believe the US version of this set has Netflix so here's hoping.

You would hope that any TV model or device for that matter than has the app in the states would make it available here soon. I'm still waiting for Samsung to update, because despite them posting its available, it aint showing up. I also use Windows Media Center as my main TV PVR and would love to have Netflix on this, which of course it is in the states, but UK Media Center seems to get little attention in terms of additional 3rd party online services.

BTW, browsing the Netflix site this evening and while they might not be new movies, saw a great deal I'm be interested in watching. Interesting to see some good documentries like The September Issue and the Joan Rivers A Piece of Work. Also love having whole season of shows like Arrested Development, Dexter, Breaking Bad .. critics have been raving about them for years, so I might give them ago. I just wish Samsung would pull their finger out so I can have a proper browse on the TV. Anyone know if you can flag stuff up to watch later?

That is not difficult as most of the channels ion T.V have awful picture quality due to the compression that is used to fit so many channels into such a small space.

No problem with my PS3 app, saying that I was chatting to a mate on the phone on the way home from work and he was saying that Netflix was really slow this afternoon, when he scrolled along looking for something to watch it took ages for the thumbnails to update.,

He thought it was a PS3 or network problem but his Lovefilm was ok,


Just another gimmick to be honest. the PS3 remote works fine with Netflix so I been told, that don't go to sleep. the control pad sleep mode can be changed, but then it means charging the thing more often, saying that I normally use my Wii to charge it.,


If it been solved then why have a machine that is 12 months old still got the same problem?

Not that it really bothers me, I am not a games player and only got the PS3 for the Blue-ray player as at the time it was the cheapest way to get one. i certainly would not pay to use my PS3 on line like what Ms likes Xbox users to do.

I signed up, the picture quality is good but it has a stutter, I have mine through the Wii, anybody else got this problem, tried through the 360 but I've just found out that you need a Xbox Live Gold Membership to download the app, that is disgusting and just another rip-off from M$, It ain't happening there is no way im buying a Gold Membership just so the Xbox can access Netflix, omg I think it applies to 4oD as well, no wonder iplayer will never be on the 360

And the Slim models (which were released over a year ago) don't have the problem at all.

We use the Harmony One remote with the PS3, works amazing, doesn't go to sleep.

Netflix on the PS3 is actually really good now. It didn't used to be that way, when it first became available you had to order a special disc from netflix.

Also you couldn't browse, you could only play what was in your Instant Queue. (btw, the fact that Netflix removed the Instant Queue for you guys is total crap.)

I've got the Harmony One as well and it is an excellent remote indeed. I got the Logitech PS3 adapter for it and although a bit expensive, it's definitely worth it. There may even be cheaper alternatives for it on the market now (for the adapter, that is).

NetflixUK says the reason for the missing Instant Queue is because in the US it is also linked to your DVD queue which we don't have. Not sure how hard it can be to amend the code a bit to account for that, so maybe we will get it at some point.

Virtually all 360 apps require you to have Gold membership: Netfliks, LoveFilm, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, 4OD, Demand 5.

It is Microsoft at it's very best: ripping people off!! As I said in a previous post, I have two 360s, one in the bedroom with Gold subscription for gaming and an older one in the living room that i hoped I could use as a media centre with a silver account but thanks to M$ it's not working out, It can use my Gold membership when I'm not on the other 360, but if anyone else wants to use Netfliks, etc while I'm gaming on my main 360, they're stuffed.

You can get an Xbox Gold account for £30 (and sometimes even cheaper); that's £2.50 a month. Absolutely worth it, in my opinion; especially if you also do a lot of your gaming on it.

Oh, and iPlayer is coming to the 360 soon as confirmed by MS and the BBC (Not sure if Gold will be required for this).

I'm glad I'm not going insane and someone else spotted seasons 1 to 3 of Breaking Bad on there earlier this week. I was excited as i'd just finished watching season 1, so was going to do seasons 2 and 3 and really test what netflix was capable of. Checked yesterday however and now there's only seasons 1 and 2!!!

Content is a problem for netflix fullstop, why the hell would they take stuff away!

I'm sure the backend has some integration between the two (stuff that's in my DVD queue that becomes available for streaming will automatically appear in my instant queue), but they are separate queues.

The thing about netflix is they often try something new. It could be they don't have the queue feature because they're working on something different for the streaming-only countries.

The problem is they sometimes kill off features and don't necessarily replace them with something better. Netflix used to have a Friends feature, where you could recommend movies to friends, see each other's history, etc, that's all gone. Obviously that's now replaced with facebook shit (although there is no facebook integration in the US netflix, that's something they're trying out on you guys).

The other thing that kind of sucks is that they don't do "save movies" for you guys (it's part of the queue system). If I see a trailer for a movie coming soon to theaters, Netflix will have a stub for it, and I can "save" that stub in my queue, and it'll sit there at the bottom of the queue until it becomes available to rent. Even now I've got True Blood Season 4, ParaNorman, etc sitting in my saved queue, so I won't have to pay attention a year from now when they're available.

Maybe they don't have a slim model then and is one of the earlier ones, they did get it for a what they call a good price.

I don't think I will go to that expense, I got the official Sony remote for use with playing DVDs/blue-rays, I gave that a try last night before I went to bed and it seems to do the job just like my mate said.

I have no idea what the instant queue is and what advantage it would be, I must admit I don't like the browsing part, lots of room taken and very limited info.

ah yes, now I see what use a queue may have in a streaming only service. i am not really into this tell eveyone what I am watching listening thing, I did connect my netflix to my facebook for a couple of hours just to see what it does, but disconnected it now.

i just want to sit down and watch a film, I don't really care what anyone else is watching, as I have said before it is free advertising. If I watched something that I thought someone else would be interested in then I would tell them.

Well I got all next week off, so I can use the free trial to the max and see if it is worth keeping, but at the moment I don't think it is .

For our viewing habits having Netflix and VM Tivo is giving us everything we could possibly want to watch and more and on average we peak at 20gb download per day (if the mrs is home) which is quite staggering.

So is unlimited actually unlimited or does fair use still apply. It is clear that to using a on demand programme provider like Netflix uses a lot of gigabites , which in your case is around 600Gig per month!
With my free 8meg/ 40gig per month Talk talk internet. I do not think I will be trying it!
