Luckily I'm on Virgin Media 100mb.. I have unlimited downloads and no traffic management

I will be keeping my netflix sub.... xbox on UK, and wii and ps3 on US for £5.99 a bargain

Thanks for your reply!

For some reason it won't work on my iPad, but I've managed to get it to work on the PS3. All of the other episodes work though :S

i love the service but it needs a better search facility or just the ablity to browse whole categories.
i'm finding myself using the pc site just to find films them watching them on the ps3, have the xbox as well but the picture seems a lot lower quality.

I have PS3, 360 and Apple TV and the ATV is by far the best due to the ability to browse better.

I will be keeping my sub too. I've more than got my money's worth so far and this is just the free month.
Until it arrives on Bravia devices I'm using Wii for both UK and US content. I created 2 wireless connections so I can easily toggle between the 2 lots of content.
Just finished watching Prince of Persia and have seen plenty to keep me occupied for some time to come.

Re the browsing. Must admit when I searched for "Thomas" for my son one item came up. After we watched the episode, suddenly about 10 episodes of Thomas also appeared on the "if you like Thomas ....." line !!

Keeping mine running as well as we have watched so many films and tv shows it's bordering crazy and for the small fee of £5.99 a month its a no brainer for me

Got 50mb VM and no major issues so far to report and it will be interesting to see how ISP's cope with the extra workload Netflix introduces.

This is the problem, the complained enough with BBc Iplayer, so how are going to react if Netflix do take off?

Someone got to pay for the extra usage and I think we will be the ones to pay for it.

The speed isn't the major factor , I'm on Sky BB and receive 9mb ive streamed Netflix at the highest setting no problems and being that it's a truly unlimited service helps , could be tricky on some other BB packages with data caps.

You can browse whole catagories. You click on a genre and then click the option to view them all in that genre/catagory.

I've had it a few days...Its fine, good picture, no buffering after the load up page which lasts only a couple of seconds.

I've found stuff I can happily watch but the search function is not great. I guess for the price of a pint a or two of beer a month you are 'legal' and not tempted to go downloading elsewhere so I guess I'll carry on with it.

Useful too when out on your travels, make a nice change from Tvcatchup or whats stored on your phone or laptop.

On a sadder note, browsing has made me realise just how many DVD/BD I have of stuff I've not watched since the day I got them

I connected up my PS3 via Ethernet last night, made a difference in quality, I was getting medium HD on stuff that was HD. The problem is routing the cable out of the way. it is a long cable mind you.

I am looking at getting another Homeplug to be honest, to connect the wii and the PS3, but i got to make sure they are compatible with the one s I have got.

I agree the speed helps to a point so you can get the best quality but it's the guys who are stuck with a data cap on their package who will suffer the most.

It will be interesting to see if Netflix release some stats for the UK in a couple of months too.

I'm changing from a capped service to unlimited because of netflix, as Ive chewed my way through 30GB this month because of it

Its Breaking Bad's fault for being so bloody good, watched series 1 & 2 on uk version and watched series 3 on US version over the weekend

Surely the 360 version is superior as it outputs 1080 and the Apple TV can only output 720 or am I being an idiot?

Apparently the latest Xbox update limits no-Zune video to 720p.

Maybe, but how many people can stream 1080? 720 is possible even over my internet connection if nothing else is running.

Some early figures

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/story/201...t-traffic.html

Quote:
“ Customers of the Virgin Media broadband service account for 32% of internet traffic to Netflix UK, which streams unlimited movies and TV episodes to computers and other online devices. By comparison BT customers only accounted for 21% and Sky Broadband grabbed 19%.”

Anyone with a 5Mb connection or over (based on Zune via Xbox 360) and that's with 5.1 surround sound.

I have a 360 and ATV and both look nigh on identical quality wise and I would give the edge slightly to ATV in my opinion.

The 360 only streams Netflix at 720p just like the ATV.

Also on the Xbox it costs £40 a year as well as your Netflix subscription to use it.

That's one of my biggest gripes with owning a 360 is you have to basically pay to access services which are free on other platforms.

Anyway back on topic paid up 1 year in advance for unblock-us and still no complaints so far.

Currently having a psych marathon

But you are on the minimum at 5Megabits, so if someone else uses the connection or there is a drop as there normally is then you lose that quality.
