I'm in the same boat, rated alot of stuff and there is not alot of new stuff, Netflix UK has nowhere near the content that Lovefilm has and the quality via the Wii is not good unless you like watching films that stutter all the time, its not worth £1.99 never mind £5.99.

Im using Wii and have had no stutter problems at all with any of the films and shows I've watched so far on either the UK or US stream. Quality wise I'd say the streaming is slightly better than BBC iplayer.
Film wise so far I've watched Spaceballs, See No Evil Hear no Evil and Prince of Persia.
Everything else we've watched has mainly been shows like Airwolf, Torchwood, Faulty Towers, Firefly and some 80s kids cartoons like BraveStar, Heathcliff.
IMO I've certainly had more than my monies worth so far and I've not payed a penny yet.

Have no stutter on my Wii or PS3 for US nor my apple TV for UK content.

(Didn't realise Airwolf was on there... is that US or UK?)

I've watched some Nat Geo stuff I've not seen before - pompeii, North Korea,
oh and the film "the Joneses" I like it, one of those so bad it's actually not too bad films

Ok so just found Airwolf all 72 episodes!!!! I'm in heaven

The queuing feature is present in the U.S. version and missing form the U.K. one so hopefully that problem will be solved soon.

One of them I deffinately want to see again is the Richard Prior film Moving.
When you click on it to bring up the play button, under the description and cast list it says available until february 1st.
Also all the Starz content is due to go in February too which will have an impact to certain content.(for the US anyways)

Yep, so before it dissappeers were getting Toy Story 3 out of the way right now.
According to Wiki it seems that Disney put the squeeze on Starz to sever ties with Netflix.

Sky are going to take on Netflix with a new IPTV service:

How is this different to Sky Go exactly?

Sky will have to keep the price at a decent level, i like the idea of pay as you view, but no doubt like other Sky will charge about £3 or more per film, which to be honest is expensive.

If they offer a good selection of films and series for a decent price and the quality is good then they will do ok, but I can't see it as sky is about getting people to sign up for their Dsat service,

don't you have to be a subscriber to Sky main service to get Sky go?

No. Anyone can get Sky Go.

Netflix has already stated they consider Sky Go to be its biggest rival.

Looks like there will be a reduction for bandwidth required for Netflix soon, without a reduction in picture quality.

Similar words were used when satellite HD bitrates were reduced

From the website one needs to be a Sky subscriber and I don't see any links to indicate one can be a streaming only subscriber i.e. one needs to have a Sky box.

EDIT: Correction, I just came across Sky Go 'Tickets' and starting at £15 it's a bit expensive?

Anyone can use Sky Go, the same as (the former) Sky Player.

Sky Go Monthly (i think) is for non-Sky TV subscribers. I know as I had this prior to signing up to Sky TV. it's not very cost effective though as you psay the same price as you would for Sky TV, but only get a fraction of the channels.

I just chatted to a Sky rep and they said the internet TV service will be coming in the next 6 months; at that point it will be interesting to see if they'll be a proper rival cost-wise.

They said that about channels on Freeview as well, stick more channels on and keep the quality as technology is better. Freeview quality is crap to be honest, so it did not work.

seems lots of new contents been added, quite a lot of 40d stuff and bbc

but without a view by date uploaded feature you still have to browse everything or hope to come across something by chance

That's unlikely to change anytime time soon as the way they do things has been a tried and tested formula in the US for years and they've been at it since 1997.

thats a shame.

ill have a look back in august time and see if its improved, because their "tried and tested" formula doesnt really work when they have so few videos

There are a few new ones, but nothing to get really excited about. Certainly need a better way to browse as been said above with so few content, dong a search is a waste of time as it comes up blank 99% of the time.

I will have a look again in a couple of months and see if it have been improved.

Seriously, there's hundreds of videos.
I've found plenty to watch and by the time I've watched those, I will come across something else to keep me going for a while more and so on and so on.
I personaly think that some want too much too soon, even though they won't be able to watch all at once anyway.
I'm more than happy with the content so far and has saved me a fortune in buying TV Boxsets that I was going to get and I've been introduced to new things too.

If you're looking for the latest and greatest releases then netflix probably ain't for you however if you are after a huge back catalogue of films, tv shows then netflix is definitely for you.

I rent the latest films out on my apple tv and watch mostly tv shows on netflix so the best of both I reckon.
