Lovefilm love keeping quiet about any price changes, just checked, the streaming only option is £4.99 a month so I've changed to that, adding Netflix will just bump the price up to what I was paying anyway.

Can't seem to see the iPad app for it yet though..
Try www.netflix.com for the iPad app

For faster service, use this service code: 980 420

But emails you need to be a member, ok you can phone them, but come on it is a online service, so why should we have to phone them?

Noticed they got rid of the Fqacebook stuff.

I may give it a try, a month free is good, I just made another email address from my domain so they can send their emails to it. If I join and cancel I can get rid of the email address to stop them sending me stuff.

i doubt i will subscribe as I don't to streaming to be honest and I am happy with Lovefilm.

From Netflix Facebook page

"To clarify, signing up to Netflix UK & Ireland using Facebook is not compulsory. If you are on your desktop, try logging out of Facebook before signing up".

Saying that I am staying put with Lovefilm.

i have also noticed with Netflix is that the only way you can contact them is by having a account to start with, not good for people who have not yet decided and want to ask a question.
you can cancel online too now.

Hi all, I have signed up to the 30 day free trial with netflix.

So far so good but the content is lacking at the moment and I am sure this will improve. Was dissapointed that there was no star trek but there are still quiet a few series boxsets worth watching.

My free trial ends on 8 Feb and should I wish to cancel then I can do it on line in the "my accounts" section. I plan to stay with them for a few months and will remain thereafter provided more content is added.

I would recommend trying as its a free trial so just remember to cancel by the date that is given to you should you wish to as to avoid a charge.

Does anyone know how to get netflix on samsung TV as I cannot find the app.?

Until you sign-up, there's not much info available on selection and what resolution it is! So it does support HD but not every film is available at this resolution?

Can anyone tell me how availability of new releases (for streaming) compare to LoveFilm - I'm assuming it will be better!

Unfortunately not, I would say LoveFilm is better atm. Although licence deals only stick for a few days/weeks with LF, so it will probably be the same for Netflix with the major new film releases

It will be interesting to see Lovefilm and Netflix battle it out wonder where this leaves blinkbox?

One thing I will say for definite is Lovefilm really do need to make the bitrate of their streaming movies much higher it's like going back to VHS!

You should be able to get Netflix natively on AppleTV. Just re-boot your AppleTV box if it doesn't work first time.

I must admit I thought it was the original episode too when it was phrased "the very first episode"

if they had all the existing episodes of classic doctor who that would be great, as since uktv gold stopped showing them there is really no way to watch them all without buying a lot of expensive dvds.

Not sure if it is worth it as I will not keep it, I like lovefilm and the DVD/blu-ray service, I am not going to give that up and I don't think I am going to pay for two services.

i got out of paying £12 a month as it is for my T.v licence, paying more is just going backwards, mind you at least I would have the choice on what to watch.,

That is one good thing as long as they don't bug people once they have cancelled

that is why I would make another email address, something like Netflix@mydomain.co.uk. easy to close after i cancelled.

Give them time as they may add more classic episodes of shows.
