As several others have said- only half joking- it's a title that appears to have been written into his contract and Dermot is clearly 'on-message!'

dermot is off his game this year. he`s been fluffing up his lines, he sometimes looks like he cant be bothered and then making silly comments like this.

with his girlfriend working in the states, i guess he wished he got the us job. although, he should be careful to be fair. when simon comes back looking for answers for the ratings slump. at the moment, i don't fancy his chances.

The light went out behind Dermotts eyes on last years X Factor, he's never been the same since, to the point for his own mental health he should move on.

The cynicism displayed by Simon and Cheryl last year seemed to spread to him, but I think he is fudamentally a decent guy and there may lie his problem with X Factor.

you are very dramatic, if you don't mind me saying!

apparently, his girlfriend is spending more time in the uk and they have set up home together here. something i found out just now looking at the mail site as a source for this article. maybe, this is the reason behind his distraction.

he also works for the bbc, so should he want to crack the states at a later date. i am sure he will have made various contacts by now.

Perhaps, but we are talking about the X Factor here so its about drama.

Only Dermott knows the real truth. But if you watch him from a few years back then towards the end of X Factor 2010 and now, he ain't quite the same man. Somethings gone. If he gets an opportunity in the States or on BBC he should go.

i agree, it is time for dermot to move on. i sometimes listen to his radio show and he is great on that.
