So apparently Kelly has done a runner after having the on-air rows with Tulisa on Saturday night's XF. She (kelly) was the most vocal and confrontational in the heated exchange I saw,and I thought Tulisa the more dignified (slightly). This leaves her acts without their mentor on the important days when they get their new songs for the next show. How unfair is that ?

Show sources accused her of leaving the wannabes she is supposed to be mentoring "in the lurch" after throwing her toys out of the pram.

Her flight home came hours after Sunday's tense show — in which she refused to speak to fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos or even LOOK at the N-Dubz star.

Well, you forgot this is X Factor, where all stories are PR!

Unless there's more to this, I don't think she should have left them. She's got a job to do and she should be doing it.

No surprises where she learnt that trick from. It is obviously her former bandmate who deserted her childhood friends so she could hog the limelight

I was watching This Morning this morning while they were reviewing the headlines. One woman who seemed to think she was in the know, I think her name is Emma?, said that the headline wasn't true and Kelly just had some business she had to attend to in the US and this had incorrectly been reported as what was in the papers.

Just passing on the info, not actually that interested myself either way.

We'll see on Saturday whether her acts did their homework and worked really hard..It's a non-story, judges have been awol in the past...Kelly will be back on Saturday..this feud nonsense is just to get more bums on seats..

The so called mentors/judges aren't even needed until Friday when they record all their backstage segments.

Yes, I seem to remember reading a while back that there was some concern from the producers about her having to spend time in the States during the UK XF run. I bet the trip's been planned for a long time.

Viewers are deserting this show in their hundreds, so I suppose any news that might make people tune in again on saturday will be tried.I think this is the worst x factor ever and am not watching anymore.

sounds to me like the flight home was pre planned regardless of what happened on the show and the papers and X Factor PR are just using it for more column inches

There should be rules against starting threads based on quotes from The Sun. Even if Kelly is in LA for a few days her acts will get good songs, they will still outshine everyone else and will all still be around next week.

How much input d'you think the mentors actually put in... My understanding from previous years (I have only followed a whole series a couple of years ago... Jamie Archer's year...) is that the producers provide a short list for each theme week... then the mentors come in on Friday. Often, in jamie's case Scowell would then change the song at the last minute...

I can't wait for this show to stop. Then maybe we'll get a full and frank reveal from previous contestants (who are currently under confidentiality agreements) to complete spill the beans about all these back stage shenanigans inlcuding how much/little effort mentors actually put in... just saying

Tulisa spends every day with them Gary devotes a lot of time aswell.

And No they only give a shortlist for ARTIST weeks

I somehow doubt Tulisa spends everyday with her acts.

Don't believe a word of that rag, Kelly is far too professional to do a runner, she has probably had time booked out for ages, as simple as that, typical paps adding 2+2 and making 5. The judges are not with their acts 24/7 and I have no doubt Kelly will be back in plenty of time to mentor her acts and brings us some good songs in time for Saturday.
