ITV apologises for Frankie swearing
Everything Goes
25-10-2011
TV has issued an apology for Frankie Cocozza following his bad language on The X Factor at the weekend.

Cocozza was caught on camera yelling "f**king have it" after he discovered that he was through to the next stage of the ITV1 talent show.

The broadcaster said that it did not make an on-air apology because it did not believe his comments were audible to viewers.

It obviously was audible judging by the comments here afterwards.

Maybe they should just apologise for Frankie, full stop.

They would be better getting him to apologise for his singing

Well I've just watched it back, and you can hear it clearly! They must be deaf @ ITV1! Frankie needs to be voted off! He's got way ahead of himself! He needs to remember that it's the public who will be buying his music (or not?), if he does make it? Not to mention that fact that, the press are exactly forgiving!

Frankie's language was disgusting, I was utterly horrified to hear such a word on television. I bet they'll be allowing gay kissing next. I think it's time to boycott the show!

Swearing shows he cares...I had a similar reaction on Sunday night when he stayed in too except an apology wouldn't have been enough for mine...

I use bad language myself - in adult company, and never in front of somebody who I think would be offended by it. It's not big and it's not clever but sometimes it's very satisfying. But I find the habitual swearing by young people deeply offensive. They don't care who hears them, and it shows a lack of manners and a lack of respect. Frankie should be made to apologise on air - being relieved and happy to get through to the next round is no excuse for using bad language on national tv in a programme which is classed as family viewing. Though, tbh, I don't think showing his backside tatooed with girls names was family viewing either. He's a spoiled bad-mannered yob who can't even sing well, yet is being made into some sort of "idol" character for young people to emulate. No wonder GB is in crisis!

Didn't Louis give the audience the finger for booing Jedward?

Frankie did apologise - on Xtra Factor. Caroline told him off and he said "sorry about that"

No need to apologise, it didnt end the world or anything.

So offensive language is OK? Obviously I'm just totally out of touch with today's "society". Personally I think that a few manners and a bit of respect for other people makes the world a far nicer place to inhabit. Frankie is getting a leg-up (or in his case a leg-over) in a very competitive business and he should be aware of that. Lots of more talented young people are struggling to get their skills noticed so maybe he should be a llittle bit more grateful for the publicity he's getting and start trying to behave less like an over-indulged child.
