There to put comfortable bums on seats, I'd guess. 'Oh look it's X, I'll watch a bit more, see what it's like' Not that I watched, Timewatch WWII Double agent thing on BBC2. |

I like "Wallace and Gromitt" in the motorcycle and sidecar.
The comedy works better for them. I guessed he'd be looking for the bit of jigsaw puzzle and not the lizard under the furniture. So much of this sort of thing is predictable. The stories aren't bad, but the comedy for the male lead seems more like it was written for Mr Bean. |

A so-so episode, but you cannot go wrong with a bit of Miranda Raison's cleevage... you can't blame the Inspector for getting distracted.

Miranda Raison was reason enough to watch, and I learned the bet way to rescue a soggy mobile is a bag of rice.

Imdb doesn't list him as appearing in any more episodes (not that that is conclusive proof). I'm guessing that as he only appeared in the first show and the mother character has appeared from episode 2 onwards that episode 1 was effectively a pilot and his character was written out at the fine tooling stage and hers was written in. |

And that does somewhat explain the caricature-ish lead character, the suit etc... it'll suit the Anglo / French / Caribbean culture clash of this series when it is shown in France. And the roast beef / les rosbifs scenario last week.

"Strange, Megan Talbot, despite having never fired a gun before, having both eyes shut and hands shaking, fired two shots that hit inches apart at the same distance. Dwayne, are we missing something? Was Mrs Talbot a Navy SEAL or an MI5 agent?"

Oh come on DIP, there was plenty of room in this episode for some lizard action. Where was he? Play to your strengths. I did a nice post earlier this week, don't make me regret it.

I love this series so far!
Truth is, I tuned in because i thought it was an Agatha Christie adaptation - LOL. I've heard of Ben Miller but never seen him in anything and I think he is pretty good in the lead role. His sidekick took a bit to grow on me and I was sorry that his original one turned out to be a murderer in the first episode!!! I love the lizard! And the scenery. And just the overall feel of the show. It's relaxing and fun. |

I'm slightly amazed at the number of people on this thread who had never seen Ben Miller in Armstrong and Miller, Moving Wallpaper, or Worst Week of My Life (bring that back!)

21:00- Death In Paradise: 4.88m (19.6%)
Up from previous week of 4.3m - Despite the footy being on the other side. Strangely quiet on that from the doom mongers this week anyway

A tad poor this week - especially the lack of lizard.
![]() Never mind, it was still fun overall. |

Ratings go up and no report back so far. Coincidence i guess. Or because Straker is now an inactive member?

Bummer!
According to IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1888075/fullcredits Danny John Jules is only in 5 episodes. I hope his character isn't bumped off or something :-( |
