Singy Thingy

Kitty doesn't sing through her nose, but I understand why someone who hasn't learned about how the voice works would describe it that way.

She does have a "nasal" tone naturally(thin toned,"weak" voice that is somewhat shrill )that is exaggerrated because she sings "from the throat" when trying to make her voice sound powerful, and forces air too fast and inconsistently .(Listen if you can stand it,lol, you will hear what I mean).

She also goes into a strained mixed/head voice a lot ,probably because most songs are not comfortable for her less than average range, and her breath support and technique are not good. Those discononected scream/shrieks she sometimes does probably add to the brittle, nasal sound in upper and rough sound in lower reg due to damage.

(HERES THE IMPORTANT PART ) What these things cause is for the tones produced to not resonate where they need to(think mouth lol) for phonetics to be formed and produced in a pleasing manner.(think-im on the edge...of glor-eeey....and I'm hang-ing on a mo-ment with-you, rather than Humontheeyej hhuffv boring anahhhmhanhhhhinohhnamomenhwitheyeeew). That paired with her naturally unpleasant toned voice is what you are hearing as "singing through her nose".

Amazing how the general public can all come up with theories and explanations as to why she sounds the way she does yet I've never once heard any of the judges mention this in the slightest.

Do the producers of this show think we're thick?
