Does Anyone Think The Young Apprentice Is Unfair?

I'm just wondering whether anyone thinks this show is unfair? I've got a feeling that most of the kids on there come from fairly well to do families, and their personal bank accounts contain an amount that isn't that far from the amount of cash Lord Sugar is fronting up if they win (you only have to look at Mahamed's watch to realise that).

I think they should have picked entrants who were from less privileged families because some of them do have good ideas for businesses as well, but not necessarily the funds or advice to achieve it.

If you look at Harry Maxwell as a case in point - he's already set up 3 businesses (allegedly the first was when he only 10 years old!), then £25K is pocket money to him. If it isn't then he's obviously made some very bad decisions and I'd no way consider 'hiring' him. However, if you look at Lewis Roman and him emerging from an alley that looks like something in Corrie, then that does imply that he's from a background thats working class and maybe would gain more from the £25K and guidance.

As an aside, does anyone know whether there are controls on how and when the winner gets access to the cash? I've just got horrible visions of the winner getting the cash and then spending it all on a holiday with his mates somewhere or on games consoles and gadgets.

I think there is actually a fair mix of well to do and less well off kids. Yes Harry M and Zara seem very posh - but that could all be front. Lizzie, Harry H, Gbemi and Hayley seem to come from less monied backgrounds. You also have to take "I've set up three companies" with a pinch of salt too, fantastic acheivements for teenagers, no doubt, but I doubt they are multi million pound concerns.

As for the winners cash - Lord Suralun was on Mondays Moyles' breakfast show. He is 'drip feeding' the cash to Arjun - so Arjun has to justify every expense. So he's got cash for new computers and the lease on a premises but nothing else so far.

I think this show is fair enough. If they only choose candidates who are too "chavvy", then the show wouldn't be called The Young Apprentice anymore.

No. You have no idea whether £25k is pocket money to any of them.

I'm from a rough part of SE London but as a teenager I was presentable and spoke with a standard accent, there was nothing to indicate the truth, which was that my and my family didn't have two quid to rub together.

Anyone can set up a business, most of them are not profitable.

They can only choose from those who apply.
