USXF 1st show... Acoustics? Singing Order? LA's decision?

The Setup (stage, etc) looks good- but the voices are still to drowned out when the acts are singing, does this bother anyone else?

Also, they got it completely backwards.... they should have grouped the performances for judges houses- and given a little more variety tonight- which would have allowed them to give the elminations at the end.

And LA just made the completely wrong decision- at least if they are trying to increasing their viewing numbers. His image and the Sinatra angle would make him a favorite amoung the Males for most of the 45+ crowd who are probably just tuning in tonight.

Its as if they are still trying to self destruct their ratings.

It's their first live show- it'll take time to get the acoustics on point.

I really like the rapid-fire setup. Makes it easy to remember how everyone did.

They don't care whether or not anyone over the age of 49 tunes in, so the 45+ bracket probably isn't their biggest priority, tbh.

I enjoyed the show overall. When it started I found it hard to adjust to Steve Jones.. was expecting Dermot to pop out at any second!

Also the voice over guy.. I preferr ours, atleast expected him to call out the acts names before they perform.

I think that little detail along with the running order of the acts made the show feel a bit rushed, it didn't have as much tension as the UK series. I hope the order isn't like this every week!

I know from an advertising standpoint the gen y crowd and younger are the prised viewers... But I guess my point is regarding total viewers in general (which does carry some advertising importance,). The total viewership does however depend of viewers from the 50+ crowd (without which Idol would not have 20M plus viewers & SuBo would have no sales... and Oprah would have had a limited viewership.

Most importantly to Simon- he needs these viewers to be "the number 1 show" on tv.... which snowballs into the "brand" which inturn increases ad revenue streams etc. And he needs #1 show status for his ego and battle with SImon Fuller as well!

On a tangetial note- I have always thought it was not smart for him to pick Fox for the show.... too many opportunities for mixed loyalties.
