Hi guys,

Hoping someone might be able to help.

I've got a Humax foxsat-hdr that has been upgraded to 1TB by the company i bought it from.

I've had the box a couple of days and every morning it has frozen and needs to be turned off & on at the back.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you mange to fix it.

Cheers

Gaz

Also the box doesn't respond at all when I access the EGP via the guide button, no matter how long I leave it.

Cheers

Sounds faulty. Before returning it try a reset to factory defaults.

I also have the same problem.

If I take out my 1TB drive formatted for my Foxsat HDR and put it into a new Foxsat HDR receiver, will I loose all the recordings (ie the Foxsat HDR wanting to format the drive) or will the receiver recognise the drive has previously been formatted and accept the drive without formatting.

Thanks.

Most likely it will recognise the drive but the HD recordings on it won't be playable on a replacement box. The encryption is box specific.

Thanks for that Graham, that's worth knowing.

I seem to have lock ups with version 17. Before the update, the box was on version 13 and seemed stable (installed factory fitted standard version).

So existing HD recordings will not play. Would any new HD recordings made on the swapped over box, play?

Yes they would. The drive fitted may be a PC type drive rather than a consumer electronics design which could explain your problems.

I have used a WD 1TB CE drive with my box for 3 yrs without problems including the latest firmware build.

The last two night I have changed the channel to BBC 1 Regional(101) before putting it on stand by and going to bed. I have no idea why but it hasn't crashed.
