I remember when Prince first appeared on the scene back in the early 80's and the impact he had across the globe. There was something totally original about the guy, his songs have matured with time like a good wine. Even the X factor can't seem to get enough of Purple Rain.

We're long overdue an original male star coming on the scene in this country but I think we may just have found it in the artist formally known as Frankie.

Both great artists with great stage presence and original vocals. I could just see Frankie doing a version of When Doves Cry or even Batdance. I would be interested to hear your thoughts, is Frankie the new Prince?

Only in Frankie's mind.

There is nothing "original" about Frankie.

I think he has the showmanship, range and stage-presence of Freddie Mercury myself

Yes I see where you're coming from there. "We Are The Champions" would be a great number for Frankie or even the lesser well known "Hammer To Fall"

I'd like to see a video for Frankie's Bohemian Rhapsody, with him taking on all the 4 parts. In fact I can picture this video in my head right now.

I feel this would reflect his dynamism, and I think he is bored by the restriction of lead vocals.

I think he needs more of a challenge.

Yes, he's the next Prince.

He's also the next Elvis, Michael Jackson and H from Steps.

All the legends.

His attitude towards women could make him a contender for Rod Stewart.

Sometimes you need a brave person to turn on the light after a gas leak before others can see.

Frankie is such an unorthodox artist that it is taking people different amounts of time to appreciate his unique take on music and live performances.

But just look at the names that have been mentioned in this thread. He is like the culmination of all that has gone before.

I don't care what people will say, I like him. Granted he's not the best singer and he would be better in a band. He's different to the usual X factor calibre. I like that.

And regardless of what people here say, from what i've seen of his twitter he comes across as quite nice. (Don't even try to turn that into a euphemism you naughty DS'ers!)

Do you think it's nice for his younger fans to see his colourful language on his twitter?

If you're asking us because you're doing the crossword OP, then I can confirm that the first three letters P-R-I are correct.

If 'younger fans' have twitter then i'd say it's more of a parenting issue than anything ...

Please tell me this is a joke thread. Frankie = Prince. They don't even belong on the same planet.

His language is colourful like a rainbow.

Some artists suit monochrome, Frankie is more an explosion in a Dulux factory.
