Humax Foxsat HDR Remote Nightmare
Almost since day one I have found the remote control infuriating.
I have tried all including removing the lacquer on the door flap, but the problem I have is that the OK button will do everything (left/right and up/down) apart from perform the OK function. its a nightmare when trying to set recordings in the EPG. Anyone else experienced the same ? Anyone managed to get into the remote to clean up the switches? If so how?? It spoils what is otherwise an excellent machine. |

Exchange it, the reception is generally rubbish but its faulty. if you only have 1 button that doesnt work.
If you cant do that, buy a Philips or logitech all in 1 remote as they are better anyway. |

I had the same problem and I bought a Logitech after a year, then almost a year later I contacted Humax and they kindly sent me a new remote. (which works fine)

I've got a Phillips Prestigo which switches the Foxsat HDR on and off okay, but when I try it through "Activity"s that I have set it only sometimes switches on and never switches off.

If it has a macro capability send three zeros for the power on condition (000)

Cheers - works fine now switching on - any idea how to force it to switch off?
![]() The power on works because 000 is not a valid channel so you get 3 tries at a power on. Have you tried the lacquer removing solution ?. Never had a problem with power off with a Logitech remote. |

It will power off pressing the power button but the "Activity " which includes that action fails to work

Managed to 'break' into the Humax remote at the weekend by distorting it and managing to insert a blunt plastic blade and carefully opening it from the bottom (there is a hinge/catch at the top).
I had nothing to lose as the OK button was completely in op. The small conductive pad on the OK key pad was 'soft' I cut it off, along with the other four cursor key pads and glued some I had cut from an old remote I had lying around in their place Before reassembly I lightly cleaned the PCB contacts with some alcohol and a cotton pad, and tested it before reassembly. Clicked the halves together, and its now a pleasure to use. |
