It looks like Mal Young could be leaving the BBC to accept a job with Simon Fullers company.

Oh this is simply marvellous news.

Another one bites the dust! This really is great news as Berridge took far too much of the flak.

Now this is the best news all week. And MUCH more welcome than the loss of Berridge, as his mucky fingerprints were all over BBC Drama series, which is why most of them were so bad!

I completely agree, I've always said that he is the biggest problem - not LB. He has hidden behind her so many times and allowed her to take all of the flack...it's about time that he should go.

She may well do! She's not leaving the BBC and is staying on within the BBC Drama Dept.

The beeb entrusted her with their most popular show and she made a right pigs dinner of that - so no i don't see her becoming the head of the Drama Department. I reckon they will draft someone in from another area or channel.

Although i still can't believe that she had anything to do with Waking The dead. (which is actually good).

I am happy that he is leaving, it what EE need to improve and return to it former goly but he did do some good things on EE, like, he was the one who came up with the storyline for Tiffany death and the Steve kils Saskia both were great storyline. But in the last two or so I think MY has lost the plot and made EE worse by not getting sacking LB and with crap storyline.

3.45pm update: Mal Young, the man responsible for EastEnders, Holby City and Silent Witness, has quit for a big money job at the company behind Pop Idol. By Lisa O'Carroll.
Darling if you scroll down the main media page you'll see the above quote! http://media.guardian.co.uk/0,7502,,00.html

And also further prove in the article it self below=

The BBC is to confirm tonight or tomorrow that Mal Young, the head of drama series and the man ultimately responsible for EastEnders, is on the verge of quitting for a big money job at the company behind Pop Idol.
..........I think i proved my point here lol.
