FreeSat channels in multisat FoxSat HDR
I have a FoxSat HDR installed with 3 satellites: Freesat, Astra 19.2E and Hotbird 13E. Using Disecq switching I have FreeSat on A, Astra on B and Hotbird on C.
Originally I set up FreeSat first in Freesat mode. Then in non freesat mode via the hidden menu on manual setup I installed Astra and Hotbird. However I have never been able to see any freesat (28.2) channels in non freesat mode. When I do a manual scan in non freesat mode I can choose from all 3 satellites. If I select freesat it detects all the FTA channels on 28.2 which I can save. When I press list I can only see satellites Astra 19.2 and Hotbird 13 channels. Any suggestions? |

I have managed a solution of sorts. I deleted Astra 19.2 and Hotbird 13E and rescanned Freesat. All the FTA channels were there. I then reinstalled Astra 19.2 and Hotbird 13E and rescanned them.
Now when I enter non freesat mode I see the FTA 28.2 channels. Using the yellow button I can select Astra 19.2 or Hotbird 13 and switch between them but I can't get back to freesat 28.2 channels in non freesat mode without switching back to freesat mode then back to non freesat. Is this normal? Could anyone else with a multisatellite setup confirm that Freesat does not appear in the yellow button list of satellites when viewing the channels in a list. |

This is normal, non freesat and other satellites that are user scanned and entered appear in non freesat mode, to use the freesat channels with the Epg you have to switch back to Freesat mode.
Happy viewing!! |

Hi Willowman,
I have the same 3 satellite setup as you and I can confirm that the yellow button only shows 19.2 and 13. |

Out of interest, which input should be connected to the diseqc switch for multisat, please? And what is the colour sequence to get to the hidden menu?
I want to try this out for myself. Any help appreciated. |

I did wonder whether or not to add a fourth satellite Astra 28.2 setup as Disecq A (same as FreeSat). The channels would be duplicated but maybe all three satelites would appear in the yellow button list.
Unfortunately though when I go into non freesat mode I get a mixture of all 3 channels and the list page shows TV in the tab at the top. If I press the yellow button the TV tab changes to Astra 1 and I can switch satellite. Knowing what I know now I would not do any manual scan on the freesat entry in the satellite list but do it under Astra 2 instead. I think then it would go straight to Astra 1 on entry into non freesat mode. I could delete the freesat entry but I suspect that this will cause problems in freesat mode. If anyone from Humax reads this I wish they would add a proper favourites tab in non freesat mode so you could choose your preferred channels instead of having to search for them. |

If you prefer to use the Yellow button listing option then creating an additional 'Astra 2 28.2' satellite is the answer and you can always delete the channels previously tuned in under 'Freesat 28.2E' although it wouldn't hurt to leave the odd one just in case this has any impact on the Humax, although I don't see why this should be a problem. . I have a multi-sat system (Astra 1, 2 and 3) but never use the Yellow button for listing as my channels are in a favourites/most accessed order so was unaware of this problem. |

I phoned Humax customer support to ask for help on this topic. The person I spoke to said I needed to read the advanced manual and he emailed it to me. I would post it here if the forum allowed it.
I have posted it on the satellites.co.uk forum http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/h...ml#post1007447 |

![]() A factory reset will delete all your non-freesat entries and start from scratch including your freesat recording reservations. Other than that it won't cause any freesat mode problems. Sounds like what you want ![]() What about existing recordings? |

The simplest way around this is to sort (Edit) your non-Freesat channels into a list with your regular favourites starting from 5001 upwards. It is a bit time consuming but not such a big deal - half an hour should do it and it's sorted. If you use the tick boxes at the left you can move whole blocks of channels up and down in one go. Any channels you add at a later date are automatically positioned at the end of the list so are easily identifiable and can be sorted into place. However having said that I have noticed that on occasion the Humax does position some newly added channels alphabetically in the list - must be a quirk as it is spasmodic. If you are deleting channels be careful as there is no 'Are you sure?' warning.

Just exactly what does the factory reset do? I assumed the box would return to the state it was delivered in. I would then need to reinstall FreeSat, postcode, software update etc before setting up non freesat mode
What about existing recordings? Recordings are not affected, neither are firmware upgrades. You will have to re-enter your postcode, rescan non-freesat and make any changes to defaults. On my box this is Increase the default volume from 50% to full. Turn off genre display on the epg Turn on crid display in prog info Use customise channels to move BBC1 WM to 101 (I use a Manchester postcode for Full HD ITV1 Granada) Rebuild the recording schedule. |
