Put a sock in it Corrie stars
Anyone would think you lot have never won anything in your life.
ANDREW WHYMENT (Kirk) "I think it's a disgrace! No disrespect to EastEnders, I don't watch it myself, but if they have lost so many viewers I can't understand why it won. We've been brilliant this year and we deserved to win." My comment: No, you havent been 'brilliant'. You've been miles ahead of EE but still nothing stunningly compulsive. Get over it. SURANNE JONES (Karen) "I'm shocked. We've had some great storylines and we've really tried hard. We are right up there at the moment and I'm really surprised at the result." Its called rig voting, you shouldnt be suprised, EE's tweenie fans are common knowledge. KATE FORD (Tracy) "I'm a bit disappointed for us. We've worked very hard this year and I think everybody who has watched the soaps knows that." Spare a thought for Family Affairs then Kate. You Corrie lot sweeped the soap awards and other shows and complain NOW? FA has never won a gong in its 7 year life. So you and your co-workers should be a bit professional and put a sock in it. |

Well it has been brilliant this year, Kirk himself hasn't but overall the soap has had a cracker of a year and well deserves Best Soap at any awards ceremony. Even those who are voted by tweenies.

Where exactly are these quotes from?
If i worked on Corrie then i would be very disappointed considering Corrie has been Far better than EE for a long time now! Regarding FA and the other soaps, the awards are always between Corrie and EE, everyone knows that so always expect EE/Corrie to get best soap and the majority of the awards, its unfair i know, but thats just the way it is. |

I think they've every right to complain.. It was injust! And if someone asks for their honest opinion, they're perfectly entitled to give it.

) but out of the three Corrie is the best at the moment, and has been for quite some time, followed by Emmerdale then Eastenders. They should of received the Best Soap award. |

Injustice is when EE and Corrie virtually lock the rest of the shows out of awards ceremonies.
That is why a professional panel made up of actors from the soaps and tv critic veterans should vote. |

If a panel voted then it would be a lot more fair, i mean all the soaps would get a look in then. With the public voting its more difficult because only certain people who buy/read certain magazines may vote (wont if they can't be bothered) or people who can vote online, yet then we might get multiple voting! I have only ever voted for one of thw awards ceremonies and that was the NTA awards (think it is/was for this year). |

Yes i think they know that Helen, but considering what a crap year EE has had (and everyone knows this) then i think they expected to win over EE and so did most people!

I have absolutely no sypathy for corrie whatsoever. True EE have had a bad year and they have a relatively good year but there is no need to throw the toys out of the pram everytime you dont win! You dont see Easteders stars doing so when at the TV quick awards when they won just 1 and Corrie 5 awards do you. Corrie stars should take defeat on the chin and its stars should stop believing the hype surrounding them...overconfidence is an ugly thing.

Maybe Ee are not moaning as they KNOW they don't deserve to win...yes they KNOW it! Remember the speech Mal Young gave about LB when they won an award about a rough they have had...they know it has been utter shite!
If I was a member of Corrie I too would be disappointed and complain. They have had a better year, Loopy you even said EE deserved to lose. Corrie have rarely won (when I have watched I have seen them win about twice). It just shows that EE have a younger audience who can be bothered to vote. TV critics should be put on a panel and decide who wins. That would be fairer and hopefulyl represent the viewing public. |

So when the press asks the Coronation Street actors for their views they are supposed to say nothing?
To say "I'm a bit disappointed" is hardly throwing your toys out of the pram. |

I hate EE, but dispite the "falling" viewer figures they are always the higest ranked show of the week with Corrie coming a close second, perhaps people watch from force of habbit or because nothing else is on, For example when ITV put something "good" on EDale it thrashed EE. If they have the best viewer figures they will most likely win the awards. I do agree Corrie should have won but its folly to underestimate the power of the "fans". Months ago I would be pleased with LB exit but I cant see it changing tacts, more stupid storylines that are in the league of Dallas and Sunset Beach, not to mention acting that is worse than a first year drama student. |

To say "I'm a bit disappointed" is hardly throwing your toys out of the pram. Did you see the way that they acted on this morning yesterday if no then you did not see how they acted, The corrie lot went on like upset school kids no wonder the press are calling them. |

From what I heard, so did Ronnie from EE, acting like the kid that got the candy (Veruca Salt comes to mind).

Yes he did but I think the reason for that was because the press kept asking him if he had been axed yet! |

If I remember rightly Eastenders weren't too pleased when they weren't nominated for a Bafta award earlier this year. Did I imagine all the whinging and moaning that occured then? They certainly behaved no differently than the Coronation Street cast.

I think Corrie did deserve to win and lets face it - the Corrie stars work harder than EE - they churn out 5 episodes a week, while EE only does 4. not only that, Corrie has managed to maintain its high standard of acting and great storylines, including some fantastic comedy moments! So i think it is perfectly fair for them to be hacked off that EE (undeservedly) won!

I know I have gone right of some of the corrie stars for the looks they were giving people I mean it was only an awards show! |
