So looking at all the comments 97 fans that forward when I took my count 59 are female and 38 are male. So, in percentage terms 60% of Aaron fans are female and 40% male. So much less gender skewed than you would think.
The average fan overall is 38 but female fans average at 41 and male at 32. If you look in detail at the aged of the fans, then up until the age of 40, Aaron has an almost equal number of male and female fans which indicates there is almost zero gender preference among the target audience of the show.
The 60/40 split of female/male Aaron fans is almost totally explained by Aaron having nearly ten times more female than male fans in the over 50 age group. And females over 50 are his biggest single fan group accounting for nearly 20% of his total fanbase.
However, t is the over 50 males who are least likely to be watching the show at all so we should not be reading too much in to that. But it also means that over 80% of his fanbase is outside this group and is in fact pretty evenly spread across the genders and in equal proportions among the different age groups.
All of which means it is really very stupid to stereotype Aaron fans.
It would be interesting to see similar figures for other housemates such as Jay. It may well be that Aaron has a particularly unique fan base which crosses genders and ages.”
This is really interesting - thanks for taking the time to do the analysis. I read the thread but I didn't post - I've posted loads of times that I'm way out of the target audience age range, but I do use FB and still walk without the aid of a frame
Interestingly the proportion of male voters for Aaron is much higher than I'd normally expect for a guy - particularly a sensitive guy like A!
Excellent news tonight, looks as though it might be Faye leaving but that's way more to do with her family than with Aaron.
