John Yorke would be fab, it's exactly what the shows needs, a very steady hand to see it over the last couple of years. I, for one, will do a happy dance if that does happen.

Although Brian Park would also be fantastic news. Remember, he saved Corrie in the 90s

Paul Marquess has big commitments to fill with Family Affairs and The Bill - so if he joined the beeb, he would no longer have any input into the shows (alan45 will be pleased) although I don't know his full relationship with talkbackThames,

Im also sure he created the original format for Footballers Wives - so if he left this would cause problems for both ITV and Five.

If John Yorke does come back I bet ITV will be craping themselves.

Why? A strong EE and Corrie would be a fantastic thing, the majority of viewers would be delighted, it'd probably revive a bit of interest in both soaps if there was a strong rivalry between the two. I'd personally love it if I sat down with a sense of expectation for BOTH soaps. A strong EE would in no way put me off Corrie. The only thing that would put me, and I suspect the majority of Corrie viewers, off it is if it became the same weak mishmash that EE has desended into. Corrie survived quite happily during the first 19 years of EE run, and will probably survive the next 19 quite happily as well.

I think ITV will be more p*ssed off, about Paul Marquess or Brian Park leaving ITV.

But in theory Fuller's company will probably end up making drama productions for ITV because of his relationship with them. So Mal will end up doing stuff for ITV.

Also Yorkes been with channel 4 for a few years now, so again in theory ITV could have tried to poach him themselves.

This thread is about John Yorke coming back to EE. Your comment is obviously implying that if he does, the ITV soaps will be craping themselves. Why can you not see that everyone wants EE to be back on top again side by side with Corrie!!??
