Just a quick note to all these Lulu fans out there get your votes in tonight as the more people that leave this show the more vital every vote becomes

Scotland's treasure needs you

And call they this Improvement? — to have changed,
My native Clyde, thy once romantic shore,
Where Nature's face is banish'd and estranged,
And Heaven reflected in thy wave no more;
Whose banks, that sweeten'd May-day's breath before,
Lie sere and leafless now in summer's beam,
With sooty exhalations cover'd o'er;
And for the daisied green-sward, down thy stream
Unsightly brick-lanes smoke, and clanking engines gleam.

Come on Lulu

Surely as a Scot, Robert Burns trumps all other poetry, even Thomas Campbell?

Last week he was canvassing in Glasgow, now it's poetry!!

Here's a dedication for granny Lulu.

Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff a Bus!
Ye cannae shove yer granny aff a bus,
Oh ye cannae shove yer granny aff a bus,
Ye cannae shove yer granny, for she's yer mammy's mammy,

Ye cannae shove yer granny aff a bus.
Ye can shove yer other granny aff a bus,
Ye can shove yer other granny aff a bus.
You can shove yer other granny, for she's yer daddy's mammy,
Ye can shove yer other granny aff a bus.

But we'd make an exception especially for you granny Lulu.

I'm not very good at poems so I will give way to your talent, lets hope Lulu can hear you.

Good for you, no harm in being supportive of someone,
Sadly you won't need to make the effort for much longer.

It would have been a good first effort if he had.

Not sure what a poem about how industry changed the River Clyde has to do with Lulu, though

It's a metaphor for how she used to be pretty.

Didn't you know that Lulu's been around since the Industrial Revolution?

With that cap she wears, she certainly looks like she was once in Coronation Street. (On the left).

How's the Lulu voting campaign doing so far this week on SCD?

Same as usual.

Badly.

It's the Brendan fans keeping her in.

At least her twin brother knows how to wear a cap.

Twas North of the border from where Lulu came

Natural beauty and blonde locks as well as her fame

Twas a sad day that Lulu befell a tall lame brain

We all rejoice her success despite dragging this Anchor Chain.

Nice try, but it doesn't scan.

Try iambic pentameters

Exactly, Doghouse. He clearly hasn't got a clue about blank verse.

Impressionist poetry is at the cutting edge of literature.
