Is the ITV film deal so great?
Whilst the films secured for airing on ITV are great films, is it a good deal for ITV. They have secured the films that did well in the box office and also done well as video and DVD sales.
I have several of those films on our shelf so why would I want to watch them on ITV with adverts included? I know many of you will say, "not every one has bought them", but will it bring the audiences to ITV? |

Not everyone collects films, so yes - a lot of people will watch the films on ITV.

I rarely watch any programmes "live " on any of the commercial channels, particularly films, because of the amount of adverts. I nearly always record them and eliminate the ads. It's amazing how much time you waste watching adverts during films. There's a tendency these days for films to be quite long (2+ hours) and you easily take out nearly half an hours worth of ads from these. And now with PVRs and DVD timeslip recording you can start to watch these half an hour into the film and catch up with it ending.
