However, Chelsee is the youngest competitor in the show and as everybody can see a very sensitive soul lacking in confidence. I dont think people have been patronising about her only concerned as they know she has an abundance of talent but doesnt believe in herself. There is nothing wrong in showing emotion. Last night was worse for Chelsee as she felt as if she'd let her partner Pasha down when of course she hadnt. I think you're being very unfair and a mite harsh but of course yo'ure entitled to your opinion.

I admire Jason's graft and determination, I just wish (for his own good) that Kristina would stick a sock in his gob so he couldn't blow his chances with the public by long-windedly over-analysing it all with those raaaather unfortunate elongated aussie vowels that can make him seem like a bit of a precious windbag. I think he's probably a really lovely guy, just needs to be himself (tough for a career performer!) and not worry so much how he comes across.
Anyway, Chelsee. Don't get me wrong, I don't seriously dislike her! I'm in it for the dancing, really, and I love watching anyone with talent. I'm just annoyed when I feel like I can't root for them properly because they just rub me up the wrong way. I think jasper has a point - she may be the youngest, but she's 23. She's not 15. Not to get too absurdly Alf Garnet-ish here, but we've got lads out in Afghanistan and the like risking it all at 18, 19. Not saying everybody needs to mature at the same rate, it's just a trend in our culture that gets me grinding my teeth - we seem to cosset dippy little bundles of fluff. I mean, at least Chelsee seems like a nice soul with a real talent for entertainment, but think about how the nation took the likes of Jade Goody to their hearts. Or even Jordan. Or Posh. Or any of an entire catalogue of dim, superficial, silicon-and-bleach chumps who really do make my inner feminist tear her hair out. It's like philandering footballers getting OBEs... while people who do something good or really useful in the world are mostly ignored 'cause they don't sell any gutter papers.
About the patronising comments on Chelsee - I skimmed through a thread on here where she was referenced several times as 'Chelsee-pet.' I mean, what the...? Like a nintendo puppy? Chelsee-in-your-pocket? Ugh. I don't think she consciously plays up to that pat-me-on-the-head demographic, but you must admit she does act like a kid most of the time. As for the wardrobe incident, personally I think her distress was obviously genuine and I did feel for her. At the same time, though, I kind of wondered 'well, hey, if you decide to append a couple of plastic balloons to your frontage, it doesn't make a lot of sense to be too shocked about the prospect of revealing quite a bit when you're wearing a low-cut dress.' I mean, if you're old enough to consent to having a perfectly healthy, lovely body sliced open and stuffed with plastic by some unscrupulous money-grabbing creep who's a disgrace to the word 'doctor,' then surely you're old enough to maturely deal with the subsequent... fall-out, pardon the expression.
Sorry, too much yakking. Just getting it off my chest!
