Jeez it was only a bit of thrusting. Since when did DS harbour a bunch of Mary Whitehouse a-likes blasting about censorship and the corruption of our young?
LOL! I thought it was horrible but I love your comment - what a scream

It was horrible, and tacky and sleazy but I seriously do not get the angst over the "children" being traumatised by it

There's so much boring-old-fartism from people on this forum.

Everything that is amusing or risky or non-traditional seems to be disapproved of.

I thought the crotch grabbing was relevant because it was a Michael Jackson song, and the one at the end in Craig's face was surprising and hilarious (and pretty damn athletic).
And another hilarious comment - just too much I repeat I hated Robbie's crotch thing but I can't help being amused at the funny comments by the crotch-defenders.. I think I am laughing at us.

Then nobody needs to get their knickers in a knot do they?

Justifying the unnecessary part of the performance because it was a Michael Jackson song, made me smile.

We all know what a pervy basket case he was reported to have become.

I suppose you think Vincent and Flavia, or anyone else who has ever danced or choreographed explicitly sexual routines, could easily be a "pervy basket case" too.

I'm bemused as to why people are clutching their pearls over a bit of crotch-grabbing given the usual content of most of the Latin dances.

Maybe Robbie got his knickers in a knot and was just trying to straighten them out?

I didn't like the crotch clutching mainly because it took up too much time in the dance. He probably only danced for one minute instead of the required 90 seconds.

Good point, Gary Barlow still has a pair of my best M&S size 18s - Gary if you're reading this, can I have then back, I've nothing clean for work tomorrow.
HAHAHA Love your sense of humour

Yes but most of them do it a lot better, making the routine sexy without looking tacky and cheap - e.g. Colin and Erin's rumba and a beautiful performance by James and Ola (ironically) a few years back when they danced to the Sugababes' "Lost in You". But then it's easier to resort to sarcasm and name-calling than enter into an intelligent discussion.

My main objection is that the move requires no skill.

Well I dunno about that, it might have taken him a while to actually find it....

personally I found the sight of Chelseeeees knockers flinging themselves around more disconcerting than Robbies thrusting!

Err..

it's best not to "suppose" anything about someone else's opinions, just to make a weak point.

It impresses no one.

This is a family show and I suggested such behaviour was unnecessary.

You of course are entitled to your own opinion, but don't try to ridicule those of others at the same time, it's bad manners.

But children can watch the original choreography (Michael Jackson) at any time.

Seriously does anyone know any children who have been corrupted ny this. Or are people being offended on behalf of others?

Exactly. There are far too many prudes on here who are offended by (quite frankly) nothing whatsoever. My daughter was watching and she said nothing, neither did I detect she felt uncomfortable. The complainers really need to get a grip (no pun intended)!

So they do what they like until someone is offended, is that the situation? What a way to run a family show.

The table jumping requires skill but he could have done something other than grab his crotch once on the table.
It's just lazy choreography

Amen! I made the same point a few posts back but it was ignored - funny that. And I notice someone has finally used the word "prude".......surprised it didn't happen sooner. Very original

I could possibly get criticised for saying this again, but some responses I consider are of the "feast or famine" variety.

Because you suggest something is a bit out of order, you get countered with the "I s'pose you'll only be happy when they ban everything!" or similar nonsense.

Still, it always makes me smile when it happens.

All a bit desperate, even by Lilly Savages standards, the dance didn't suit him mind so perhaps that's why he did the crotch stuff. Thought for one second he'd got the leap onto the desk wrong, now that would have been TV gold.

Why did you highlight that part of my post and then write something that didn't respond to what it was saying?

It's best not to be making illogical statements about what indicates that a person is a "pervy basket case" if you're going to be so touchy about being called out on it.

This is a family show and I suggested such behaviour was unnecessary.
And stated that because Michael Jackson had a dance move where he grabbed his crotch, it was unsurprising that he should turn out to be a sex offender. Which I extended to: if an explicitly sexual dance move indicates to you someone's potential to be mentally unstable / a sex offender, virtually every professional Latin choreographer on this show must be a worry to you.

You of course are entitled to your own opinion, but don't try to ridicule those of others at the same time, it's bad manners.
It's "bad manners" to post a response to someone's post and totally avoid engaging any of the points they raised, and writing evasive passive-aggressive stuff instead. If you don't want to engage with me, don't bother replying.
