I'm bemused as to why people are clutching their pearls over a bit of crotch-grabbing given the usual content of most of the Latin dances.

I didn't like the crotch clutching mainly because it took up too much time in the dance. He probably only danced for one minute instead of the required 90 seconds.

Yes but most of them do it a lot better, making the routine sexy without looking tacky and cheap - e.g. Colin and Erin's rumba and a beautiful performance by James and Ola (ironically) a few years back when they danced to the Sugababes' "Lost in You". But then it's easier to resort to sarcasm and name-calling than enter into an intelligent discussion.

My main objection is that the move requires no skill.

Exactly. There are far too many prudes on here who are offended by (quite frankly) nothing whatsoever. My daughter was watching and she said nothing, neither did I detect she felt uncomfortable. The complainers really need to get a grip (no pun intended)!

All a bit desperate, even by Lilly Savages standards, the dance didn't suit him mind so perhaps that's why he did the crotch stuff. Thought for one second he'd got the leap onto the desk wrong, now that would have been TV gold.

It's best not to be making illogical statements about what indicates that a person is a "pervy basket case" if you're going to be so touchy about being called out on it.


And stated that because Michael Jackson had a dance move where he grabbed his crotch, it was unsurprising that he should turn out to be a sex offender. Which I extended to: if an explicitly sexual dance move indicates to you someone's potential to be mentally unstable / a sex offender, virtually every professional Latin choreographer on this show must be a worry to you.
