ICloud registration problem
I posted this on Apple's support forums last night but haven't received an answer yet so just wondering if anyone here knew what to do...
I just upgraded my 3GS to the 4S yesterday, so have access to ICloud, but I can't seem to register for it. my Itunes details are my user name (Jver10 - the first part of my email) as my Apple ID and then my password. I know you have to have an email address as the Apple ID so I tried to log in/register at ICloud.com using my full email address as the username and then my Itunes password and it said it would send an email to my email address but I haven't received this, presumably as it can't find this email address in the system. Do I have to set up a new Apple ID so I can use the ICloud service and can I link it to my current (non-email addess) Apple ID? |

Try checking in your spam/junk mail folder if you cannot see the verification email.
Also as part of the icloud registration I signed up for a "me.com" email address and used this to sign into icloud. You could try the same. |

You're right - mobileme isn't taking any more users through the me.com website, however you can create a me.com email address when going in through "icloud.com".

How come your current Apple ID isn't an email address?
![]() You shouldn't need to create a new ID, and you don't need to sign up for a me.com email. You cannot log in at iCloud.com until you have first set up iCloud on your iDevice. https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ |

The iCloud login details are different to those for iTunes. For example, the iTunes I use is in my wife's name and uses her login details but I have created a seperate ICloud account with completely different email addresses and password.

iTunes and iCloud both use the same apple ID login. It says on the login screen in the username box, enter your apple ID.
