You don't specify the type of books you enjoy reading for me to comment further.

Well, only you know what you like. Browse through these sites if you see something you like:

http://www.gutenberg.org/

http://freekindlebooks.org/

The free books tend to be mostly older books which are now out of copyright, but Amazon would give away some new books for free as well to promote new authors. I do not know if they still do it.

For starters: Complete works of Shakespeare, Complete works of Dickens.

Hopefully in there will be something you like.

For Science Fiction and Fantasy Ebooks go to either http://www.baen.com/library/ or http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/

Baen lists a selection of free books
The fifth Imperium - has copies of all Beans CD's as issued with a range of books
Both sites are for freely personal use

Depends on your taste!

Don't forget, as well as project gutenberg usa, there's also canada and australia websites, with addiitonal stuff. For those, you can't download on kinde as a mobi book, and will need to use your home computer, then transfer across ....

Also Web Archive texts, you can download most books there directly as mobi format ........

I'd suggest George some George Orwell, Viriginia Woofe's Orlando (very funny), and some early Grahame Greene is also out of copyright. And sherlock holmes ..... and "the complete h p lovecraft".

Proj gut usa has a highly amusing book on "penis pencils" called Perfect Manhood, look under health ........ and the Fu Manchu novels by Sax Rohmer.

I'm sure everyone downloads these when they get a Kindle, because they can, but I'm not sure how many people actually read them.

Not me - I've no desire to read any of them.
