Why do people on this forum pick on Alesha

2 weeks ago when she gave Harry a 10 you lot were all over her but Karen Hardy had said on red button that it deserved at least one 10

if Len, Craig or Bruno gave Harry a 10 (last week and this week) you'd all be fine with it

Everyone on SCD gets criticised or 'picked on' as you put it. What's so special about Alesha Dixon that she should be any different?

It's certainly the same old thing time after time on the SCD forum. There are a lot of threads about Lulu!

You do begin to wonder why some people ever watch television considering that they seem to hate every person who appears on it.

I love Alesha and the way she has improved as a judge is quite amazing. I was a bit wary of her when she first started the job but now I think she is excellent. Lovely girl. She has even stopped getting was and were mixed up .

I agree - she's a very confident judge this year - totally fits in with the other three this year, so it's a real Panel of Four.

- and I loved the way Alesha rushed in to comfort Chelsee, devastated by her costume mishap.

I like Alesha. I know there was some controversy over her replacing Arlene Phillips but I didn't watch SCD then so it didn't bother me in that way.

I do think she sometimes tries to offset Craig's overly low marks and for, if she does it, I commend her.

But Craig's scores are nornally the correct ones. At least he as a full set of paddles to use and gives the celebrity a chance to grow whereas Len and Alesha seem to only have a set from 6-10 (with the occasional 5 from Len when he is in a bad mood!)

Its pathetic that people boo a 5 when that means you have plenty of scope to work on.

They all get criticised though. I like Alesha but it is way too early to be giving out 10's and they weren't really perfect performances to warrant those marks.

Not so long back on Strictly you had to do some seriously good stuff in terms of technique as well as acting the story to get such a high mark, and they came along much later on in the show.

I think she has got better at making constructive remarks to the couples overall during her time on the show, however she still comes out with the occasional advisory howler that leaves your average Criagism standing - e.g. Nancy (for all her shortcomings) "should have stayed in the coffin"

Alesha has used a paddle range between 2 and 10, thats more than Len and Bruno ever used.

I thought her bitchiness to Nancy was over the top. I think her marks are given based on favouritism or trying to curry favour with the public because she has no real technical expertise.

I think Alesha's job on Saturday (at least this Saturday) was placing people on the leaderboard. I noticed a lack of ties compared to the past few weeks. Last week Nancy had 5 points, which got her through. This week she had 2 points, and that got her out.

She showed her true colours on Saturday with her comments when she scorred Robbie. You would have thought she was in a strip club. I'm right off her now.

Because she's a woman?

That might sound flippant, but lets say Mark Ramprakash, or another attractive male winner took over Arlene's job, I doubt there would have been quite as much venom. If Mark Ramprakash had an idiosyncratic dialect you'd probably get scores of women swooning over how 'cute' it is.

Alesha cannot do right. If she scores high, it is favoritism and she should be ashamed of herself for devaluing a high score. If she makes a critique, she is either being bitchy, personal or catty. She cannot speak the queens english, and so on and so on.

Why she is vilified I do not know I find she always says something nice to the celebs and she tries to give them encouragement.

I stick up for Alesha as a judge a lot because I didn't like Arlene as a judge and Alesha is still my favourite female celeb. I would have preferred Karen to replace Arlene, but I was happy enough with Alesha instead (I didn't want Camilla).

As a judge she's had a rough ride from day one, with thread after thread having a go at her, so I'm glad more and more people are accepting her now. This is her best series yet imho and for me she is the most consistent scorer out of all the judges. I don't agree with her reason for giving Harry & Aliona those 10s, but I do understand why she is doing it.

As Len would say "It gets on my wick" the way certain posters pick on the least little thing to have a dig at her. This is not because I don't want them to have their say, but because it often it completely spoils a good atmosphere on the thread at that time. It is so petty, but that's public forums for you.

The problem is that the way she scores by favouritism and not by dancing has an effect on the outcome. if she was just there as the "voice of the celeb" (god help us) or as a "Phwoar-ometer" and didn't give marks, it wouldn't matter.
As it is her idiocy makes a difference.

How does she score by favouritism?

Her scores for Saturday

10: Harry, Jason
9: Chelsee, Holly
8: Alex, Anita, Lulu, Robbie
7:
6: Audley, Russell
5:
4:
3: Nancy

Here we go, favoritism, I rest my case.

Dictionary definition of IDIOCY: Usually offensive : extreme mental retardation. something notably stupid or foolish

You couldn't be for insulting

Like when she told Nancy and Anton that they should've stayed in the coffin?

Is it wrong that I thought that was funny? The audience didn't boo either.

I did too...but it's a funny way to encourage the celebrity.
