I hope this is his last series. I didn't like his attitude towards Nancy this time round. OK, she was hopeless, but she didn't deserve to be mocked by her partner.

As for him replacing Bruce....not in a month of Sundays.

Agree, Anton is just pathetic exuse for a pro IMO.

He can only do comedy dances.

Maybe a good Waltz / Foxtrot but thats it.

If he replaces Brucie I am switching off. Sorry but he is odious.

Oooh, yet another thread abusing Anton and saying he mocked the hapeless, hopless Nancy. Couldn't you have added your comments to one of the many threads already slagging him off?

Come on Anton is the most well mannered down to earth dancer on Strictly. He is a true gentleman.

Totally agree. He wouldn't let Nancy speak during the post-dance interview with Tess. The only pro who drowned out their celeb every week.

Disgraceful performance and I think Nancy showed a lot of dignity in letting him talk over her all the time without complaining. Even Tess got hacked off with him.

You are not funny Anton. Better face up to that fact now.

Don't forget Anton did a good job teaching someone like Nancy if she would've been partnered with someone like Brendan or James who are both quick tempered she would've been out weel 1. To be truthful Anton is the nicest pro on the show and is treated like a joke he get's crap partner's,and is always made a fool of it just isn't fair.

I couldn't be happier, now I can really enjoy the rest of the series!

Replacing Bruce with him is to ghastly to even contemplate! .

It would be great if this is his last year, bring back Ian and Matthew!

He is the Louis Walsh of Strictly.

Or is that Brucie?

Please tell me what is you guy's problem with Anton?

Anton has been pretty good in the past. I remember him with Lesley Garrett, Patsy Palmer and Esther Rantzen. He was great with all of those and of course last year's fun with Widders was worth watching. He was definitely not nice to Laila Rouass (excuse spelling), who has been a real lady and never commented. That put me off him a bit.

Nancy was funny too, at least she was on ITT. She sent herself up and the performances were quite amusing but it was time for her to go - and now she has gone.

Yes, enough of Anton.

I really didnt like his partnership with Nancy. So Im glad they were given the boot.Granted she might have been very difficult to work with but I feel like he was a bit a bully with her.

Yes. I actually thought Nancy wasn't that bad and could have done decently with a different partner. Anton just made a joke of her. I don't know if he was told to do this. Quite possibly. To mock someone who is foreign and not really in on the joke is pretty low.

He has had good partners, but his Latin is so spine-chillingly awful it lets the pairing down. Anton topped the leaderboard ONCE in the first series and has NEVER had a sniff of it again. Pretty damning IMO.

I'm glad to see the end of him. He's so rude, the way he talked over Tess was unacceptable.

Perhaps he has an agreement with the BBC that he gets the terrible dancers so that he gets the publicity.

I totally agree with the OP, please BBC no Anton next year.

As for him always getting the awful dancers, no because how did they know Nancy was going to be bad, on paper she would have been good. If they wanted to give him who they thought would be the worst dancer they would have given him Edwina. When he had the girl from Footballer's Wives, Laila was it?? he completely spoilt her chances of winning as he couldn't do the latin dances.

BTW when Brendan had Jo Wood who frankly wasn't very good he was excellent with her.

To be fair I think he was just trying to protect the nation from yet another of Nancy's rambles through the English language. I think he could probably hear from where he was standing the producers in the gallery yelling "Move on!" in Tess' earpiece.

What a bunch of nonsense. Anton plays the role that the producers want him to do - to be paired with otherwise difficult celebrities and to create some sort of entertainment out of it, which he does well. On top of that he is an excellent Standard dancer (probably one of the best at foxtrot and waltz).

Glad he's gone. His Latin is just embarrassing. They really need to retire him.

I'd have agreed with you about that until this year. However he seemed to be laughing at Nancy, not with her, which I found uncomfortable to watch.

I'd much rather listen to Anton than have to put up with Nancy's (drunken?) ramblings when asked a question.

I don't think she has ever made any sense when interviewed - she comes out with fluent gibberish!

Considering Nancy has spent quite a while in the UK her English is not very colloquial.

I suspect she's as impenetrable in Italian. For 'impenetrable' read - has nothing useful to say...

Actually I must be getting this completely wrong, but

a) I didn't think Anton was rude to her
b) they seemed to have quite a chemistry (e.g. fun fighting)
c) I think amongst the serious and intense dancers, we need someone who is less serious.

Nancy didn't really want to learn how to dance IMO, and I think her and Anton were perfect for each other. Actually I just started to find them rather amusing together.

Anton seems like quite a nice guy imho, and in a couple of year's time I would like him to replace Bruce really
