Hello
![]() I am pro-Sophie. And also pro her being with the person who is best for her. I used to think that was Sian, but since New Year I've been less convinced. I'm now hoping for her to get together with Amber because Amber is more fun and also because Amber seems to be able to support Sophie better, and because, imo, although Amber not made it obvious, I think she is physically attracted to Sophie and to me it's not really been that clear since NY whether Sian actually fancies Sophie. |

I know what you mean puffin. The whole "new shoes" comment by Sian put me off her and them as a couple. I actually felt rather sorry for Sophie that she reacted that way. Good job Sophie didn't take too much offense by what Sian had said. If some soap guy said that to a girl they would be strung up.
I'd like Sophie to get to date someone who is actually into her and if that is Amber then good. I like Amber, she's fun and she keeps Sophie's whinying in line. I think she's actually a good influence on her and not a bad.I also happen to think that Amber is kinda cute (she has worn some questionable clothes and adopted some fugly hairstyles but haven't most of us). |

I just don't think S/S have a very sexual relationship, nothing onscreen suggests they do. I think it's based more on love/friendship than any major attraction between them. Which is fine, as that's their dynamic.
Sophie's next relationship should be based on a bigger attraction. Presently she has that with Amber, but we have no idea if Amber will return those feelings yet. If not Amber then give her someone else with a similar dynamic. She needs her relationship to be different to S/S, more exciting. S/S were a very cute teen romance but now she's 17 it's time to give her a more grown up relationship. And that will include implied sex. Have it all just be more sexual. They are already showing it could be that way with Amber, so really they shouldn't waste that. They won't last forever of course but while they do we can see a more adult side to Soph. It's time to have the girl grow up IMO. This storyline is surely going to mature her, an aborted wedding at 17 brings home the realities of being and adult. |

People read waaaay to much into that comment. Of course Sian felt a bit weird the morning after - it was her first time with a girl and it was Sophies first time full stop, Sian was just being honest. If she was really uncomfortable or hadn't enjoyed it, it would have taken a lot more than a pout from Sophie the next day for them to go at it again and get caught by Sally.

I'm with you on this. But we can debate it from the moon and back, we'll all have different interpretations. But, you are definitely not alone in your opinion.

Well Sian might have been underwhelmed but so apparently at this point is Sophie, hence Sian getting the boot for Amber. I can see where she is coming from.
I'm not blinded by SS. I get that they have been slowly getting maybe too friendly as to being a couple. They just havent sold me on the Amber story as of yet and you know that. I can only be turned in the positiv direction - its all down to the writing and acting over the next couple of months. Its going to be exciting. |

It doesn't seem the ring choosing scene in tonights episodes is going to a major thing. It's not even mentioned in the DS synopsis. At least we get to see Sian's post-proposal reaction. I expect she's all excited. I wonder what Sophie is like, is she playing it all excited to fool Sian, or will the viewers see her act a little strange. It would seem weird for Sophie to be all happy and nothing else, as we know the engagement is a bit of a farce.
No mention yet for November 14th week. But they are very small synopsis' so you can't tell what we're getting that week. Doesn't look like anything major. I have a feeling they will keep this storyline on the slow burn from next week and only having little scenes until december and they the big build up to the wedding drama will start. |

Well if we get a scene of two at the moment I will be happy, I'll have to suspend disbelief on where they would get the money for rings.

It has to be from Sian's mum. She's had almost a week to tell her and get the money. I expect Sian will say tonight.
I do hope for a quick Amber scene, I want to see her reaction already. Still miffed they didn't show hers or Sunita's last week. |

Sian's mom is totally deluded isn't she. At least Sally is sensible enough to disaprove of them getting married. Sian's mom is probably thinking this will be a good way to get Sian out of her hair so she can go spend time with some random man.

I wonder when Brooke was talking on twitter about when she said she had a lot of talking/drama in her latest scripts. It wasn't the stuff that's gone. I think it might have been for late november/early december so at least we know stuff is coming up. Probably includes the running away, hopefully it also includes triangle stuff and not just fighing with Kevin/Sally.

I know this debate could go on for ever, and I accept that other people don't agree, but personally I think it was quite off. She looked like she regretted it the first time, and the second time she really didn't look keen. I think she just felt pressured into it (similar to the way she had been pressured by Ryan). I suppose we don't know if Sian ever identified herself as gay (sorry if I've missed this), but if she had you would expect her, even though it was a new experience, to have preferred it to previous opposite-sex experiences. It might be strange, but strange-better. And even if it took a bit of getting used to/practice, you think she'd be more enthusiastic about pratising! |

Well you know if Amber was to make a similar comment then me puffin, kitty would have to take back all our comment re Sian on that night and admit yes it was just because our Sophie was crap. ![]() I think Sian said she was lesbian at some point. I think it might have been around the Tommy storyline and I recall her saying she was gay to Pastor Guyliner last year. |

Hello hello hello, thought I'd join in on this thread.
![]() I tend to lurk more than anything else but I don't think I need to add to what's already been said as they are all valid points/statements/arguements. I know there aren't any spoilers for further in the storyline as yet but Brooke tweeted earlier about having her wedding dress fitting (I assume for Sophie as she's not personally getting married as far as I'm aware, lol ) so I think speculation about about there actually being a wedding and Sian being dumped at the alter could be a possible...otherwise, they only get as far as buying their dresses...![]() ETA: Sian has only ever stated that she was gay in relation to Sophie: ie, 'we're together' 'she's my girlfriend' etc, she's never explicitly stated that she likes women in general or that she's even found another woman attractive. ...Not that I can recall anyway

And I have a feeling Amber will be a bridesmaid and that will be what puts more pressure on Sophie with her in the wedding party. Then it's possible something is said or done between them just before the ceremony and that's why Sophie calls it off. For it to get as far as the ceremony something surely would have to happen at the venue or just before for Sophie to leave it till the last second. |

What Sacha said in a magazine interview a couple of weeks ago strongely implied there is a actual wedding. That tweet just adds to the evidence. And as it's highly unlikely Sophie dumps Sian on the honeymoon, and the original spoilers said she dumped her at the wedding, it does look almost certain it's left at the alter thing.

Yeah, good point on everything...I've been really busy lately so I haven't been reading too many articles so I guess I missed that one from Sacha.

What a shocker the ring scene was 30 seconds long. And Sian was yet again blink of miss her. How do Corrie expect us to care about a farcial wedding when they never even show Sian these days. They have to build that more or the wedding will fall flat. Quote:

Something has to happen with Amber, even if it's just Sophie breaking down and confessing her feelings. Or someone knows about her feelings and says something to her that makes her rethink the wedding. You don't have soap wedding being called off without a catalyst.

I just hope that if they get Sophie/Amber together their storylines will be more interesting that what we get with Sophie/Sian. Its as if the writers are utterly bored of Sian now.

They need to give her more screentime or this isn't going to work. As for the rings scene, can't they make it less childish and cutey? it's like they're going to a prom and not getting married. I really am not impressed with the S/S side of this storyline so far. Other than needing a bit more screentime I really think the S/A is being handled so much better up to now. |

It's like they aren't even trying with her anymore. She is in barely any episodes and the ones she's in she has about a minute of screentime if she's lucky.
