Albums leaked

Our day will come - I like it. Love the reggae vibe. She was going in that direction for album 3.

Between the cheats - I heard this song was written and recorded after the end of her marriage with Blake and it has a slight Back To Black element to it so it wouldn't feel out of place on that album. It's a very Amy song and I like that. it's not incredible but it's promising of what could of been. It also has a slight early Dusty springfield vibe.

Will you still love me tomorrow - A studio version of the cover. I have only ever heard an acoustic version. The instrumental doesn't go with the words at all. It actually spoils the emotion of the song because it's one of my favourite covers she has ever done.

Like smoke - Another song that would of fit in well with Back to black. I actually really like Nas's input as originally i didn't. Again, not incredible but promising. I love the production from Salaam Remi.

Tears dry (original version) - 4/10 - Totally different arrangement of the song. It gives the song a little bit more emotion but it doesn't work and thank goodness the original was used

Valerie - This is no different to her live lounge version really but less acoustic of course. It's nothing really different to be honest and I fail to see why it was included in the album anyway. A rather pointless add on

The girl from ipanema - This song is a cover and it sounds like a song from her Frank era and would of fit in very well. Shows off her vocals really well.

Halftime - Another song that would of fit in well with her Frank era. But even for Amy, it's too dreary to listen to and one of the weakest recordings i have heard of her.

Best friends, right? - Another frank era type song. It has a wintery vibe in the production and just so nice to listen to in this type of weather we are in at the moment, even though lyrically it has no relevence to Winter. I like it.

Wake up alone (original recording) - More stripped back version of the original. But not a total departure from the original and it doesn't give the song any more or any less emotion.

A song for you - A cover song. I am not fond of the original and not even Amy could turn my opinion round. A nice song to listen to if your in a chilled out mood.

Overall, i think this album should never have been done. It sadly shows the weak parts of Amy's music and even the Original demos are not flattering either. I think it's a very very very poor way to continue her legacy and I for one am very upset to know that this album is going to continue it.

I just listened to the full version of Tears Dry on YouTube and i have to say i do prefer the "Motown version" or the final cut/album version because it's more up-tempo and packs some serious Amy attitude and emotion.

The lyrics seem to fit the music and even though Amy performed it live on many occasions, there doesn't seem to be many acoustic versions. She did perform it live in Ireland in 2006, enjoy:

I've relented and am downloading it now with my free Becks downloads from Napster. I've had to sup 9 bottles of Becks to get this album so it'd better be worth it

It's probably one of the best posthumous albums ever done and it's great her parents had a bit of input too. As well as the producer(s) who knew her best and how she worked.

Favorites:

-Tears Dry (I prefer it to the original actually!)
-Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?
-Body & Soul (sweet and lovely!)
-Between The Cheats
-A Song For You

What? None of it is depressing! It's all quite uplifting and "warm" I thought...maybe "Wake Up Alone" is more sombre.

Haters gon' hate.

I'm surprised none of you have mentioned having the physical album and when you take out the CD, you see a notepad containing the titles of tracks written in Amy's handwriting for the third album that was never made/completed:

Do Me A Lemon
Gutter
A Lion's Pride
You Always Hurt The Ones You Love
Care Instructions
Not A Penny
Song For Dionne
Between The Cheats
Like Smoke
Misery Loves Company

Topping the first midweek charts with good sales, 67,000 up to last night. That's 20k more than Buble at No.2!

It's better than I thought it would be but obviously nowhere near the quality of BTB (or Frank for that matter).

Listening to the album now. Some wonderful tracks on it, some not so brilliant but still good to hear. It's like she's still around, listening to her singing her heart out. So sad we won't hear any future stuff from her. Poor Amy.
