I was so excited about this album, especially after listening to 'Halftime' which was a gem, but I'm disappointed.I didn't expect anything close to the masterpiece that was 'Back To Black' and I knew the album would be a bit rushed too, but I still wanted something better and more cohesive tbh.Aside from 'Halftime', there aren't any other songs that I love (well, I liked her version of 'Our Day Will Come' and 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow', but that's all, I guess )

I really wish we could listen to what was going to be her 3rd full-length album I don't know if these tracks were finished, but I believe she had recorded her vocals already and I bet that she would be happier with the release of her new tracks, even in an imperfect from, rather than a bunch of covers and leftovers churned out just in time for the Christmas sales...

It's good that we got to hear something, though May her soul rest in peace

Really hoping this will be the #1 album today. Michael Buble took over #1 on Thursday.

i have mixed views over this album.

so pleased that we got some new material, but it's clearly just comprised of half finished songs recorded in demo form with added recent production values on top.

listening to it makes me sad, on many levels. sad that amy died before finishing her third album (it's unrecorded and so will never be released, apparently), sad that i'#ve been robbed of years of live performances that will never happen now, sad that her voice sounds so weak and scratchy and aged on some songs, and sad due to the general sad vibe on the album.

having said that i love most of the songs, especially between the cheats, our day will come, girl from ipanema, best friends right, and the new versions of tears dry on their own and wake up alone, especially the latter which i think is better than the original on back to black.

the final track, a song for you, is heartbreaking - her cracked and broken vocals hit my emotions hard, and the ending, with her last lyric sounding so miserable, then her voice talking about donny hathaway, is a strangely depressing end to the album. i almost feel like the tracks are imbued with this weird upsetting energy, like the productions drips with death and tragedy.

still glad the album was released though, and still listening to it regularly.
