How does SCD9 scoring compare?

Any statto's out there know how this series scoring compares so far with the number of total points awarded by the judges in other series?
I reckon it's probably the lowest, Although Alesha's doing her best to rectify that : - )

Series 4 26.87 (2)
Series 5 27.45 (1)
Series 6 26.46 (4)
Series 7 25.59 (6)
Series 8 26.57 (3)
Series 9 26.34 (5)

For all the Strictly stats, I use Ultimate Strictly. It amuses me that forum members moan about the marking this year, but it is pretty consistent with previous years.

Alesha's 10s for Harry and Aliona may be ridiculous (well, I think they are), but she awarded her first 10 in week 5 last year to both Kara & Artem and Scott & Natalie.

Blimey, that does surprise me. Probably because this season has been grossly overmarked, for everyone.

And Bruno awarded his 10 for Brendan and Kelly's choreography contraversy AS in week 4, the same as Alesha last week.

Bruno also still holds the record for first use of 10 - in week 3 (although second dance) for Louisa and Vincent.

Watch this post drop rapidly down the list as the facts don't fit in with the various myths that are perpetuated such as the scoring is more lenient now, there were no comic acts in the old days etc etc

Jeez, I'm amazed there's only a 1.02 increase from Series 1 to now. I'd have thought it was far bigger a discrepancy! The stats never lie. (Well, except sometimes....)

The first thing the teacher did in my first GCSE stats lesson was quote 'Lies, damn lies, and statistics'.

Yeah but his average was 20.08. Much higher than 8.

Wow, not much of a difference at all, quite suprising really. Though in saying that, every season there seems to be some sort of shock score, I think we all just think it gets worse

Not really. It doesn't tell you anything about the range of the celebs (probably not so good at the high end and not so bad at the bottom which leaves the average in the same place) or their consistency (the mid field this year has had good weeks) Nor, indeed does it tell you ,whether the marks were deserved or not, or whether what the marks are being awarded for has changed.
