Simpsons DVD season 1
This is an absoutely brilliant DVD. Best one I ever bought. What does anyone else think?
I also heard there was a hidden feature you can access using the DVD remote. Does anyone know what it is? |

I think this DVD is excellent as well. I don't know if you've found these extras, put in DVD 3 and select 'Special Features'. Click on 'Next' to go to 2nd screen. Then Press 'Left' to highlight Barts T-Shirt and press 'Enter'. This plays a News report on the Bart T-Shirt controversy in the U.S.
Also on Disc 3 on the second screen of extras, highlight 'Art of Simpsons', then press 'Left' to highlight Bart's comic and press 'enter'. This shows various comic book covers. |

I'm considering buying this as I'm a huge Simpsons fan, but the cost is putting me off (£39.99 RRP) - I see it's £17.99 for the Region 1 version, which is more appealing to my bank balance! I wonder if they're any differences? (I'd imagine the R1 version would have more features if anything?)

Non-anamorphic (i.e. 4:3 or non-enhanced widescreen) stuff doesn't look as good from America as it does from Britain because of the lower number of lines in the picture. Depending on your TV, this can result in a noticable "lineyness" to the picture - I know on mine it does. Could be a reason to go for the UK version.
Not sure about features. WHSmiths was selling the simpsons DVD for £29.99 when it first came out, and it was in their buy one get one half price offer, so it was much cheaper then, but I don't know if you'll find such an offer now. Mark |

Thanks sidewinder for the hidden extras tip. I'll try it later. Also, I think MVC sell the DVD for around £30.00 if you are a member there (and it costs nothing to join).
