Listen folks, for a newspaper that cannot even spell

"celebrities" viz: their article
Russell Grant - Strictly Come Dancing: Nancy Dell'Olio, Russell Grant, Lulu, Nancy Dell'Olio and other celebraties talk money

why worry?? It's the gutter press!!

Better stick to The Times, the FT (Financial Times) and, for a spot of light reading, Hansard.

It is just a piece of journaleeze(sp?) trying to get Ms Singh noticed! There's a much more celebratory article in the Times today (in the Sports section!) which is more upbeat but still written with a wry tone.

I don't agree with the poster who said that SCD isn't for the DT demographic - surely the programme is for anyone who wants to watch it?

I have read the article and I am not het up about it....I agree with quite a lot of it.....

Firstly....Chelsee's dress WAS too low cut which caused her to have the wardrobe malfunction that she did......it wasnt intentional on her part obviously and hopefully not on the shows part but I think most people who posted about the incident on her afterwards agreed that is wouldnt have happened if her dress had been bigger and better strapped up on the top...thats just a fact that cannot be disputed really and I am 100% positive that it will not happen again (to Chelsee anyway).

Ola putting that hip thrust into their paso was (in my opinion) a mistake....once I would have let it go but to have him jump on the judges table and thrust several times into Craigs face was just vulgar and completely gross and unecessary....who cares if it was an 'iconic' move from Michael Jackson it was gross then too...I dont actually object to hips thrusts, afterall they form part of many of the dances, for me it was the hand on the crotch that was completely unacceptable. I havent made a formal complaint because I am not that way inclined generally but I did tweet Robbie himself to say I didnt like it...even though I actually blamed Ola..........Robbie has been tweeting and tweeting about this incident ever since Saturday calling people who didnt like it prudes etc and posting video of his 5 year old son doing the same move.....good for Robbie....he has managed to turn me from someone who considered supporting him at some point to someone who has unfollowed him on Twitter and will not be voting for him under any circumstances....he is like an overgrown schoolboy who has been caught doing something he perhaps shouldnt have and now refuses to just let it go.

Do I generally think the show has become more sleazy....no not really but there have been some errors in judgement this week certainly.

Once a show has decided to rely on OTT there is no way back. Like a drug addict Moira now needs a heavier dose of the bizarre each week to hold on to curious and masochistic viewers.

And yet if Robbie were to express any regret for the move, that would be an implied criticism of Ola. After all, it was Ola who choreographed the dance, wasn't it? And you don't slag off your partner/team mates. Imagine the indignation & condemnation on the forum had he done so.

He is somewhat between a rock & a hard place, don't you think?

Possibly but I think it would have been better for him to just tweet that it was what it was and that he is glad some people liked it and sorry if some people didnt and just leave it at that....it was the constant banging on and on about it that turned me off.

No, he could simply have apologised to those who were offended, and say that it was not intended to offend but was a tribute to MJ. I don't know why some people feel that any kind of apology is an admission of wrong-doing - it doesn't have to be - it need only be an acknowledgement that some people were offended.

Instead, he has lambasted anybody who was offended as prudes and encouraged his young son to emulate the move. He has been badly advised if he thinks this is the way to win over Strictly viewers.

For the record, although I thought it distasteful, it didn't particularly offend me - but his boorish reaction to others' feelings has offended me.

He is used to yellow cards.
To get his attention you need to show the red card.

Robbie's not exactly famed for his subtlety and sensitivity when it comes to stating what he believes. And actually, if he truly believes that what he did was perfectly acceptable, I'd rather see him stick to his guns than go making an apology in which he doesn't believe, no matter how it's worded.

I didn't even notice the slightest trace of smut, I don't know what you're talking about. All my impure thoughts are confined to Ola...

Those of us who have watched Strictly from the beginning are immensely saddened by this and regard the victory over The X Factor in the ratings as a very hollow one, merely indicating how steep our beloved programme's slide towards trash TV has become.”

Fellow Guardian reader your comments are spot on.

As an Independent and Private Eye reader...I agree.

btw...I think the producers next move will be to drop the signature tune and replace it with the theme from the Benny Hill Show. The way things are going it wouldn't seem out of place imo

Could we then have the Teletubbies as the new presenters?
