My Wife has just got a new phone on a monthly contract with O2,
To find out how many minutes she has left she phones O2 and they send a text message with the details, Shortly after she receives another text from somebody which says,

We note you have been involved in a recent accident and you may be entitled to £4000 in compensation click on this link!!

Err!! she has not had a accident and she does not respond just deletes it,

This happens every time she does this, Anyone else get it and is it worth contacting O2 as someone must be monitoring the system?

The spammers just send texts to random numbers. They send thousands and don't waste money monitoring or obtaining numbers. You'll even see them on the display phones in shops.

You can report the text by forwarding it to 7726 . See the Information Commissioner website, Ofcom website or your service provider website.
