Agreed.

Though I'd argue The X Factor lost big last night considering the difference between the two shows last year.

I agree; though I expect Strictly to drop in comparison to the main show. It'll be doing brilliantly if it sees an increase.

The tabloid press.

As cylon said, front page spread for Strictly earlier in the week; The Mirror also has a behind the scenes at Wembley tomorrow I think.
What's worrying for The X Factor is the press is not talking about it - good or bad.

The spectacle won, which is of no surprise. Then again, if Strictly's semi final beats The X Factor final at Wembley then I'll have to eat my words.
I won't say 'the better show' won because I don't feel Strictly is better at the moment...though saying that it's pulling in the casual viewers so it most definitely must be doing something right.
I feel like I'm morphing into GeorgeS by dismissing Strictly all the time...check my post history and you'll see I'm a long time fan but maybe that's where my attitude comes from - it's a longing for yesteryear when things have to change to survive.

It's those discussions this thread ultimately thrives on and it's what I love reading - and not just about X Factor but so many varied topics that do relate back to ratings in the end.
What's annoying is those who seem intent on derailing the thread because they don't like that particular discussion that's taking place. It's not exactly a hardship to scroll past the posts until you hit upon something you find interesting. Of all the things to get annoyed about...”
Maybe posts focusing solely on how one show can be changed should be posted in Spoilers with a warning; then those who what to avoid the discussions can easily scroll through them?

As for dan2008 I think he likes talking about McFly one, but whatever you dont mention Duncan.
AlexiR interesting list, no surprise the Superbowl is at the top, seems shocking it doesn't have either EastEnders or Corrie on it.”
I'm going to regret this but...who's Duncan?
