![]() I'm sure if ITV want DA to air on Xmas Day, it will be all over their press release ("our gift to the nation this Christmas Day"), and the trailers will be starting within days.... |

THE X FACTOR STANDBY FILLER (SAT 2015) 9,041 Besr title ever .![]() Given its ratings perhaps Standby Filler could be a new spinoff show next year? Especially with Harry Hill on the decline and apparently on the way out, could be an option!

Less than I thought Strictly's results show was still 1m behind and never seems to timeshift as big as the performance shows.
Strictly timeshifted 525k V 838k for The X Factor. Neither results show timeshift as well as their performance shows and thats not a new thing. |

Nice timeshift for The Mentalist (+725k). Higher than all but one episode from last season IIRC, the one that faced Strictly and Corrie's 50th on December 10th.
Overall launch number only 70k down on Season 3 premiere- from the overnights it looked to be much more. And I reckon over the coming weeks it will begin to log increases as Thursday nights is just a better slot for it. |

The Walking Dead is an absolute powerhouse this season for FX. We missed Ep1 and Ep3 ratings due to missing BARB data, but we have:
Episode 2: 829k (+1: 63k) = 892k Episode 4: 867k (+1: 97k) = 964k ![]() Closer and closer to that magic million mark, which is extraordinary for a channel like FX. It may have even already hit it for Ep1 or 3. |

Given the prominence attached to Ab Fab, indeed the quote from George at the end names it ahead of David Jason's return, I would say they will be paired up in the Royle slot.
Indeed, I will wager the reason Walliams tweeted about TRB launching in November but it then being held back is because they realised Cash/Aherne/ITV couldn't deliver on TRF. So this is Plan B. Quote:
Even a filler show for The X Factor gets a separate title and yet Strictly's results show doesn't. The BBC really need to sort this out.

Yeh, that is the first thing that struck me when reading the highlights how Ab Fab was given such a bigging up. Personally, I would put Royal Bodyguard before Ab Fab on Christmas Day as it sounds a more family-friendly show.

What do you mean "sort this out". Its just because the BBC arent hell bent on trying to make out that results show is a different programme so they can get another entry in the Barb top 10 or spin that hey have another 10m+ rated show.
They should sort it out, they do themselves out of a BARB place.

Wonder how many it's picked up from those who saw the first season on Five? Could dent Five's FTA figures?
The Monday repeat should take it over the 1m mark. I'm sure many will be discovering this show through DVD as well, perhaps via a boxset received at Christmas, in time for the new season next spring.Either way I'd much rather be seeing its figures up nearly 100% than about the same or down. It's a good sign for the show. And how much media coverage does this show get by the way? Next to nothing. Yet we hear loads about Pan Am which is already below 800k in the overnights after just 4 episodes. |

The trouble is, when the peak is down over 1 million on last year's average, it's a difficult one to spin.
Overall last night's results show for TXF was down about 3.5m (exc. +1) / 3.3m (inc. +1) on the equivalent show last year, I believe the biggest drop we've seen so far. Strictly meanwhile was basically stable year-on-year, logging an insignificant decline of 70k. Even if it doesn't lose more momentum by the final (and it's looking like it might), a 22% decline would have it on 13.4m for the Sunday results show. Basically, they'd have given up all the increases in 2009 and 2010 and gone back to 2008 levels. 2008 levels were brilliant obviously, but they'd probably rather not have got back there in the space of a year. |
