Agree about three parts over Christmas. Up/Down was a bit limiting taking three consecutive 9pm slots, if your not interested or miss episode one then thats another two nights of nothing to watch, this year it's double that problem.

Im not keen on weekly shows over Christmas, The whole point of scheduling a show at the same time each week is so that the viewer knows what day it is and knows whats on without looking. Over Christmas that thinking goes out the window a bit and so much new stuff is airing each day that the weekly viewing logic disappears.

Christmas/New year wouldn't be the same without The Misery from Albert Square

The new series airs in Jan and it'll be followed by 'Take Me Out, The Gossip', straight after on ITV2. TMOTG will give you back stage access to our show, along with all the juicy bits you miss out on, she didn't, she did!

A decent night for ITV1; I may as well write now that tonight's ratings will be dire. They should stick The X Factor in the slot - then they can boast about how it quadruples the audience share. Young Apprentice is being dented by I'm A Celebrity... and EastEnders seems slightly on the low side for this time of year though none of the big three are performing brilliantly. The Gadget Show did well to get over a million and The Hotel Inspector did well considering the opposition. Channel 4 struggled around the codebreaker.

X Factor didn't get the kind of final lift it had last year, but it was still higher and across the series as a whole it has definitely proven to be a good decision for Seven to give it a second (or third!) chance. Pretty poor for Happy Endings following it.

US Ratings Monday November 21

CBS cruised to another Monday night victory in the demo. Powered by their all conquering comedy block the eye finished more than a full point ahead of their nest rival on the night ABC. NBC meanwhile took fifth place behind Spanish language Univision.

Over on ABC Dancing with the Stars was down 27% vs. last years Fall finale and new quiz show You Deserve It was dead on arrival scoring just a 1.7. I dread to think what it'll do when it loses its Dancing with the Stars lead-in and I imagine ABC feel the same way.

On Fox Terra Nova continued toward cancellation dropping 9% to a series low. House was steady week on week but all signs continue to point toward this being its final season. Fox really need a midseason Monday night hit. And speaking of desperate need for a Monday night hit, The Voice can't return soon enough for NBC. The Sing-Off was actually up vs. last week but still only managed a 1.4 whilst Rock Center dropped 18%.

On cable Monday Night Football pulled in a 4.9 in the demo and 12.3 million viewers for ESPN from 8:30. Also note these are all final numbers so no adjustments are coming.

I think Mrs Brown's Boys has a real shot of getting Christmas Day at 10.30pm, depends if BBC One wants to have comedy wise, they could in theory have RB, Ab Fab and MBB all in one night,

I doubt it, methinks Michael McIntyre will get that slot, putting Mrs Brown there could be seen as being provocative, assuming it's got more swearing than anything else they've ever put on BBC1 on Xmas day. Despite the BBC claiming they're still 'edgy' with comedy, I some how doubt they're that 'edgy'.

Seems that after the success of Sky1's link up with HBO/Cinemax (the US porn channel -ask Jake Lyle) for Strike Back, BBC1 are doing the same.

I suppose House being on its last legs is the reason why Hugh Laurie is Dragging himself and his crap singing "Talent" (to be honest he wouldn't even get past the audition stage of Xfactor) around all the British Talk and Chat shows. He was on the One show last night, I guess its to remind people who he is since hardly anyone has seen him since House went to Sky and I suppose he's looking for post House work.

Hugh Laurie is the highest paid drama actor on US television, he's earning a fortune. As George said, he's promoting an album.

I saw his One Show performance and TBH considering how his show defected to Sky, it seemed strange that he should be on free to air TV to promote his music career.

That said, that maybe my bias talking, its not like Hugh himself wanted the show to go Sky,. even if it he is paid by Murdoch.

Firstly he has had a long career on all channels (BBC1, Ch4 and ITV).

Secondly, this "Murdoch" bogey man rubbish. Its produced by NBC for Fox and sold to many channels including Sky which is only 40% owned by News Intl which in turn is approximately 15% owned by the Murdoch family.

yes I am aware its produced by NBC, but lets not pretend that the show does not make money for NewsCorp owned Fox.
