Hollyoaks back up and well done to a show some of us were predicting might have been cancelled by now. However, it is worrying for Home and Away as it seems stuck below a million all the time.

Emmerdale excluded, the soap numbers are still poor.

Maybe the overkill with episodes is making people switch off. However, Emmerdale is actually doing about the same in the ratings as when it was about a farm and shown twice a week, yet I notice dear old Corrie isn't such a big topic of conversation like it used to be.

Yep, some big year-on-year declines there. Compared to the same day last year:

Neighbours (13.45): -35%
EastEnders (22.00): -29%
Neighbours (17.30): -17%
EastEnders (20.00): -14%
Hollyoaks (19.00): -14%
Coronation Street (19.30): -10%
Coronation Street (20.30): -8%
Hollyoaks (18.30): -8%
Home and Away: -7%
Emmerdale: -4%
Doctors: -3%

Massive drops for Neighbours, and EastEnders & Corrie not doing well either.

I can image a production meeting between the auditions and the live shows:

"We've just discovered that Frankie is taking drugs. Let's pretend we don't know.

Now let's tell the mentors to each axe one of their acts without a public vote in the first live show. That will provoke controversy and f*** up the BBC because that's what happens at the start of The Voice so everyone will think they've copied us.

And let's order Kelly to axe Amelia cos she's the best so that'll provoke more controversy.

Then in a few weeks time we can "accidentally discover" that Frankie is taking drugs and chuck him off the programme.

Then we can invite the public to vote for one of the acts eliminated in week one to come back onto the show. And we can get our bum-chums in the tabloids to manipulate the thick, moronic viewers into voting back Amelia, the one we've already decided will win this series."

"Ooh, yes, an extra vote so we can make lots more money"

"No, no. We have to give the profits to Help For Heroes. Always nice to give some money to Help For Heroes then everyone can see what brilliant human beings we are raising cash for poor, under-priviledged solidiers and they'll forget about how we use and abuse and manipulate the contestants to boost our profits and line our pockets."”

I am an amateur!

However it says something that neither of us appear to have actually watched the show and we can have such a grasp of it.

The Jury has held steadily throughout the week I notice and didn't flop which will be a sigh of relief for ITV.

Channel 4 lineup solid but unspectacular, but was easily the most entertaining programming last night.”

On the whole, I really enjoyed the series of BB, the only thing I disliked was the treatment throughout the 9 weeks of Aaron. Being a massive fan of his, even though I loved the series, am glad it's done, because I couldn't deal with the sabotage anymore towards him. The winning basically the public fighting back. The ratings were good for the series, for CH5, but bad for a finale

Maybe Neighbours is entering its death throes here, same as Australia. Bad for the big two, though, maybe people have become sick of the doom and gloom. Also I did read on here months ago Corrie was losing viewers through old age that weren't being replaced.

That teatime figure can't be accurate. Attentional must have made a mistake with their tape-checking there.

There is no way Neighbours finished at 5:59pm last night as they are suggesting, a whole 4 minutes longer than normal when it started as usual at 5:29pm. It contradicts their own log entry for Home & Away which according to them started at 6pm exactly. There will have been a full ad break in between plus Channel 5 promos, and this is backed up by the fact the audience went from 1.26m at 5:50pm to 734k at 5:55pm. If you exclude those last 5 minutes like Attentional normally do and should have done for last night, the average at teatime was a healthier 1.15m as I reported earlier today. Still down just over 10% but not as dramatic as reported above.

Not sure what happened at lunchtime, but it seems a bit isolated as the rest of the week it had been doing quite well in that slot. I don't think one low rating is too concerning unless it becomes a trend.

Actually, Five was the first PSB on satellite. It was on Sky analogue, before the launch of Sky digital.

Err, what? There are so many things wrong here... actually I can't be bothered.

I Hope Your Way Of Capitalising The First Letter Of Each Word Doesn't Take Off Though. That Would Make For An Annoying Read.

2.67m Viewers For Celebrity Juice Is Really Good! Especially For ITV2!

But Russell Howards Good News Got 0.95m Views Which Is Okay But Not The Best For A BBC Show.

That's because we regually read the ratings thread where all TXF plot developments are heavily debated. And why not? With TXF, SCD, Downton, Merlin, Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow and the rest, the Saturday and Sunday night ratings are by far the most interesting and exciting of the week.

A small y-o-y drop for Emmerdale but they did do a trailer for this week's episodes so they must have considered that they had a big ratings-winning storyline.

The walking dead got 0.83m viewers which I think is bad because alot of people like it but for once X Factor beat strictly by about 700-1000 viewers I think

Eh? 830k is a fantastic rating for FX, virtually unprecedented for them. It's about 3 or 4 times the slot average and 2 or 3 times as popular as season 5 of Dexter which previously occupied the slot.

As Strictly starts there's 6 and a half minutes to go in the football plus stoppage time.

The next three weeks are the big ones for ITV: IAC, TXF getting near the final and the two soaps to keep 7-8 million people watching. BBC One is probably even more reliant on SCD, EE and Holby City to keep the ratings flag flying as they will struggle against ITV1's killer schedule. However, should IAC start to fall in the ratings, we'll hear the laughter all the way from London W12.

Poor for Hollyoaks considering the channel 4 episode was new.

Glenn, your method of estimation is downright weird. Do you own a monkey and a darts board by any chance? How are these extra 4m going to know the score if they dont watch?

BTW I was scrolling back through Nov-10 thread earlier and you made exactly the same posts then about I'm a Celbrity! as you did this week. Roll on Nov 12, when I expect to read it again.

... And lo and behold, the match finished at 7.05pm, as I said it would earlier.

I don't think SCD's average will be dented by much, it's only 10 minutes of its 85 minute broadcast overall. Plus, I suspect starting at 6.55pm will give it a bigger starting base level, even against the footy, than when its episodes were starting at 6.15-6.30pm against weak competition.

I've actually surprised myself by watching the end of the match and recording Strictly. Exciting in the end.

I wonder how many men across the country, who think they "drive the Sky+" (as Lord Sugar put it on Norton last night), insisted that Strictly be timeshifted?

Assuming it's watched by 2am of course it will be included in the overnights, but it could mean good news for the match peak figure.

I have an old dartboard in the cupboard. What tends to happen with fitba is people flick across to see the score, and if the game looks any good will stay with it. Fitba matches tend to peak in their last 15 minutes as well.
As for IAC, that was last year's post and the show confounded me by doing so well. If the public like this year's contestants, then expect 10 million to watch. For an old format and one that goes back to the Survivor/ Castaway era of reality, it really does well, considering all its rivals are long gone.

You're forgetting the mighty Countryfile.
