Celebrity Big Brother was a success but Big Brother was a dissapointing in comparison, again airing the shows back to back didn't help especially as BB is a summer show and shows that move out of their natural period tend to do worse e.g The Apprentice.

Does Corrie air next wednesday as It's EastEnders BIG week with 5 episodes but the BBC have for somereason gone for 8:00pm slot on wednesday

I hear there's an advert doing the rounds for the 5 episode week but i've not seen it myself

When do you think they will launch? Channel 4 were always keen to start as early as possible in Jan. Sky are launching Got to Dance on New Year's Day. I doubt the celebs would agree to that though- maybe Tuesday 3rd with CSI Vegas returning the following week?

It's a big week which is why the BBC has used the lost friday one for CIN and added in wednesday to have it running 5 nights

TRB is a brand new sitcom starring David Jason and some of us think it will premiere on Christmas Day because such scheduling proved to be very succesful with Come Fly With Me last year.

Those are the split shows I found that are timed on BARB, any others that were split were not given specific times. So if we go back to 2007 - that split time worked fine, with a more than 2m viewers uplift from the earlier episode.

NYD is unlikely given that it would get hurt by Sherlock and possibly Endeavour, I would say Wednesday 4th January or Thursday 5th January. NCIS usually started the week before but it would allow to premiere all their US shows the following week.

I imagine Saturday CBB will be dropped or aired after CSI: NY.

This is actually the three-part drama, What To Do When Someone Dies - now retitled.

Phil hating someone, how novel for EastEnders. He's normally such a people person.

Seriously though, That's Britain! which follows it on Wednesday just sounds awful. The fact there's an exclamation mark in the title was enough to upset me, before I even read the description, which nearly sent me to sleep. The worst potholes, tracking airport luggage and bringing back petrol pump attendants on primetime BBC One? It makes The One Show's agenda look credible.

This is clearly an attempt to revive That's Life! which was similarly exclamation-marked and IIRC tended to deal with the type of banal stuff mentioned above in its first decade or so (it started in 1973) and only got into the heavier stuff in the early 80s with the likes of Childline, organ transplant and the wearing of seatbelts.

It was a massive ratings-winner in its day but by the 1990s Esther Rantzen's schmaltzy style of presenting became seriously dated and the ratings plummeted.
