“Thursday 17th November Overnights
BBC One
19:30- EastEnders: 8.38m (37%)
20:00- Children In Need Rocks: 4.26m (16.8%)

BBC Two
21:30- Life's Too Short: 1.52m (5.9%) inc HD

ITV1
19:00- Emmerdale: 7.35m (34.3%)
20:30- Coronation Street: 7.79m (30.6%)
21:00- I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!: 7.71m (30%)

Channel 4
21:00- The Queen's Hidden Cousins: 2.85m (11.1%)”

A competitive 9pm hour, Children in Need Rocks was maybe 30 minutes too long - though it was up against, Emmerdale, CS, IAC for the full 2 hours, so not a disaster. The Queen's Cousins doc rated very well, if C4 could have one rating like that per night, they would be well pleased. Life's Too Short was pinched - but will timeshift well, it is #1 on iPayer. Easternders winning the night - CS being heavily pursued by Emmerdale, could it win the battle on one of these Thursday nights?

The IAC share (30%) is the second lowest recently, the lowest was 21.8% on CiN night 2010. Of course that is in danger tonight - I can see it getting 25% share tonight.

I doubt it.

1. It's not a 'stinker'.

2. If that was the case why do they give Life's Too Short a much better repeat slot than they do for Rev?

1. It wasn't as good as it was made out to be

2. They have to do something to keep Ricky Gervais happy, and to get him back in future. The BBC could do with another office, currently their originals are getting boring (with Torchwood being a notable exception).

IAC and CIN both fell short of expectations. IAC will struggle tonight aswell I think. IAC did have an excellent + 1 figure though however.

Channel 4 did well with there documentary, with Channel 5 having another bad night.

The rating for CiN rocks wasn't great, in fact it is bordering on poor considering the wall to wall promotion it has been getting on Radio 1.

Maybe next time they should merge the rocks event with the actual telethon, this might mean they wouldn't have to spread the already thin content quite as far as they will probably be doing tonight.

Christine Bleakley replacing Holly On Dancing on Ice

So I take it that revamped Celebrity Stars in their eyes pilot followed her previous pilot 'Control' into the bin.

Just a 3.0 in the demo, down 9% week on week. I believe thats a series low.

interesting timing given the Broadcast article.

Seems like they are just giving it to her, so they can say she has something, and maybe Holly no longer wanted it.

Am I right to think that BBC 2 is taking a Pan Am break after episode 8?

Pleased to see EE being the No1 show last with a good win over Corrie, and the average performing Im a celeb...

Great rating for The Queen's Cousins on Channel 4. Nobody saw that coming on the DSRPG. It was +1m up on the highest prediction, and +1.4m up on the average prediction. As George said it must have capitalised on the fact BBC One, ITV1 and to a certain extent BBC Two were catering more for younger viewers.

The Mentalist did well last night. I was fearful for it given the opposition it faced at 9pm, and the fact it had switched from 10pm last week. But not only did it rise week-on-week, it was also up on the equivalent episode in 2010. Early days but it seems the move back to Thursdays has been a success.

Life's Too Short suffered a heavy loss. It's hard to believe it's a Gervais project because there just doesn't seem to be the same buzz about it that his shows normally generate. I did question the BBC's decision early on to have Rev lead the hour, but looking at last night's figures that was probably a good move. I suspect LTS will do very well on iPlayer and stuff though, it's that kind of show.

Compared to Wednesday, they did a lot better and The Mentalist was slightly up from last week, Fairground Attractions did okay considering it aired against CIN Rocks.

Channel 4 did great with The Queen's Hidden Cousin. IAC did good but it'll down against CIN.

Holly just confirmed it on twitter

Good luck to Christine Bleakley on this years Dancing on Ice. It's a truely magical show and you will love it. I'll miss you all very much!

I'm surprised at the ratings for C4's documentary about the Queen's relatives, particularly as it's such an old story. Maybe the Children In Need concert, Ricky Gervais and Ant and Dec pushed the older audience towards C4?

Oh thanks for that, I hadn't seen it. So Guess the star seems to be dead. Suspicious timing alright.

Oh, it's the presenting job! I thought Willoughby had pulled out of being a contestant. I forgot she was the presenter!

Bleakley and Schofield presenting together, eh?

So what's the story with Holly? Was she replaced or did she no longer want to do it?

I thought she was perfect for Dancing on Ice personally.

Holly's not doing it due to "new commitments" on twitter she has said that all will be revealed next week.

Don't know if its true, but Colin Robertson is saying she has quit to do The Voice for the BBC

ITV have found Christine Bleakely a job? It's only taken a couple of years. Maybe Holly pulled out of her own accord; I hope so because I don't think the presenters were the weakest area of Dancing On Ice.

As for last night...The Queen's Hidden Cousins benefited possibly from Children In Need Rocks and I'm A Celebrity going for the same audience; I'm A Celebrity... will be down tonight and I'm not sure what kind of lead in it'll get from The X Factor tomorrow. The big two soaps are low for November but Emmerdale did ok. Hollyoaks has taken a dip but it still recorded a good figure. The Mentalist performed reasonably well. BBC Two had a good night.

I wonder whether Schofield will stay or walk. If Willoughby feels it's time to leave Ice behind, perhaps Schofield might, too?

I thought Holly had a golden handcuffs deal with ITV1 or was that just Phil? The Voice would be great for but it's a shame as she and Phil work well together on DoI, I imagine she'll still do Celebrity Juice and This Morning,

Yeah she's staying on This Morning according to Sara Nathan of the Daily Mail - her hubby produces Celebrity Juice so can't imagine she'll be leaving that anytime soon as it's not as big a commitment.

Great news for her for getting the 'Voice' gig though - always liked her as a presenter. Makes sense for her career-wise.
