Did anybody else laugh when Gbemi said people usually think she is quiet?

Especially since she is this years obnoxious candidate from a poor background with no manners.

*Not saying all from a poor background have no manners, are load and rude, however these are the kind of sterotypes that casting directors love on their reality shows.

It's such a shame that she's so dismissive and aggressive when she really doesn't need to be.

I can't see her lasting for long if that's the attitude she has.

Orrible cow - but she'll last.

The first week I thought she was going to be a good contestant, however this week I think her true colours shone through in leading the team. Hers, and the other girls attitudes, towards the casting of the baby was ridiculous. I detect trouble with her.

Yet another BFRF (black female reality fodder). Rude, aggressive and oblivious to her failings.

Come on reality producers. break the mould and recruit some charming, intelligent, pleasant black females for once.

If you are female and black and are selected for a reality TV show, I would just take a moment, step back and ask yourself were you selected because you are incredibly annoying? The answer is probably yes.

I'd love to see a pilte., intelligent black woman cast rather than one with an attitude

I agree with you. I am not black. I know some charming ladies from Zimbabwe & Bostwana (they are so charming and polite that I almost never believed that they were from the same country as Robert Mugabe).

I think it depends very much on how they were raised as children.

When she and the other two in the taxi were laughing about the casting choices it just showed how immature and bitchy they still are. Definitely not ready for a professional environment.

She probably is quiet, it's all relative. I come from S E London and my idea of a quiet girl would differ from someone from the home counties.
I think she's a poppet.

Perhaps she's the victim of editing but she strikes me as particularly irritating, immature and obnoxious.

I wouldn't say I laughed, but I did think 'idiot'. People probably think she's obnoxious, bitchy and up herself, and unless the editing is iffy she's definitely appearing that way. I think she showed herself for what she was when she more or less comandeered the phone when she was asked to go to the market and was repeating "we've got to go to a meeting". She's got ideas above her stations and think she runs the show. I really can't wait for her to come down to Earth with a god almighty bump.

sorry but have to say the accent, as much as she might not be able to help it although I'd argue with that, is annoying and full of attitude. She comes across as the usual attitude black girl, as did Edna. What is it? Is it a case of we think we're oppressed so we'll show 'em or insecurity? Whatever it is, when you deliver a pitch, you should be likeable, amiable, friendly and illustrative - not a stumbling person who looks like she'd be annoyed if you asked her a question. Ben's got a Brummy accent and I'd say the same about him. It's not being a snob, and I can say this as a fellow Brummy, but sometimes you just have to practice to make yourself deliver a more eloquent presentation that will make people buy you because if they don't buy into you, they won't buy into the product.

It makes you wonder if she was supposed to be the best out of thousands, God help this country. It makes you wonder though if she was chosen because the producers are terrified of being accused of being racist if they don't include a black candidate.

She's being shown up badly by the others. Maybe it's her background, but this show is way too early for her

She has the most sexy accent to go with that sexy face!

Wish i could find me a woman who looked and spoke like her in Salford! lol

That's such a crazy thing to say.

What if I were to say "I am not white. I know some charming ladies from Britain (they are so charming and polite that I almost never believed that they were from the same country as Mary Ann Cotton, Harold Shipman, Donald Neilson, Peter Sutcliffe, etc.)"?

That sounds so silly, isn't it? Because it is.

What acronym do you have for white women who are rude, aggressive and oblivious to their failings? WFRF?

Nice. So not only non-white women are under-represented in TV, they have to question why they are chosen to appear on TV. Do we even think this about white women?

God, I loathe Britain sometimes.

I can sense some sarcasm in your post but although Gbemi might have a slightly annoying accent she is by far the best looking girl in Young Apprentice.

She may well be, but that attitude is such a turn off.

First of all i think the whole lot are just tokens! The token rich public school educated kid, the token fat kid, the token girl next door etc - and then the editing team go crazy making sure we just see stereotypical behaviour.

Now they have obviously decided to try and show Gbemi as being the lazy one, have you noticed lately how she doesn't appear to contribute anything to the task? If this really had been the case how come none of the project leaders mentioned this or have taken her into the boardroom when the chance arises?

My word! What an unbelievably racist comment to make. Why oh why does this kind of racist BS ALWAYS crop up whenever a black contestant appear on any reality tv show?
Of course, there are NEVER any rude, aggressive, unpleasant WHITE females that ever appear on reality shows - Oh noooo of course there isn't in La la Land! We can't be admitting that fact now can we - it wouldn't sit well with the racist bigots on here.

I think the overall thread has racist stereotypical overtones.
I can't believe some moron bleating on about unpleasant black women when there have been a good share of unpleasant obnoxious white women in these shows but their colour is never brought into it.

And how the heck does the OP know if she is from a poor background? Gbemi is from a Nigerian background and many Nigerians are educated and come from moderate to middle class backgrounds. I know and have a lot of Nigerian friends.
