Should pets be allowed to bring in office?? the most common issue since pets need lot of looking after when left all alone at home..It would be great help to people who has pets and no one to take care of them .

No as an office cleaner I clean up after my own dogs I do not want to go to work and have to get hair off their carpet too. Everywhere I have worked that they have allowed this it has ended in tears, either the dog messes and cleaners refuse to deal with it or people with allergies are affected and take time off work. Your pets keep them at home or make other arrangements but don't take them into work.

Years ago, I worked in an office building close to a large housing estate. Some local cats used to wander in and before long were being fed "because they looked hungry". They were given nothing by me as they all looked well fed and had collars.

I would never take one of my animals to work.

The problem is you can have ten people in an office even if only four of them had dogs and wanted to bring them you cannot guarantee they will get on near the other dogs or that they will sit still or lie down for hours at a time in a busy office environment with people getting up and down, or be quiet for that matter. They may also not like strangers which could be a bad thing to clients and visitors etc

Then you have people who have allergies or fear of dogs in general it is a minefield really

Same as bringing kids into a shared office space, no.

It's not fair to people with allergies, so no

I would love to take my cat to work - she could catch all the mice, but there is poison down so it is too dangetous, plus I don't think she would enjoy appearing on stage.

While my cats frequently visit my home office, and usually take up residence on top of the filing cabinet when I'm in there, I'd never take them into my actual work office. I work in a 90% female environment and it seems that all the women go absolutely wappy and turn into some sort of weird creatures the minute a small human, or something small and furry appears. They all start cooing and going "Awwwwww! Innitsweetandcuteandadorable!" The cats would love it because they'd have more fuss than they could ever wish for, but the office would simply grind to a halt and no work would ever get done.

Most cats would be unhappy stuck in an office all day surely ?

I would be happy if my colleagues brought their pet cats into the office.

Who wouldn't want the challenge of hitting a small, moving target with elastic band-propelled paper clips?

I have seen a few job adverts where it says 'must like dogs' on there, so obviously they have an office pet. I think it would be nice ... but then i love dogs.

I nearly brought my dog to work once. Her brother was recovering at home from an operation and needed TLC. My husband was at home to look after him, but our other dog was being a pain in the bum around him. I think she missed her brother and just wanted to snuggle into him. But he needed space. I was very close to bringing her in the office with me.

I think it would be nice but a bit distracting and rather unprofessional. There are other options i.e. don't get a pet if you are going to leave it at home all day, get another pet to keep your pet company, hire a dog walker to call in on your pet for half an hour and take it for a quick walk - i'm sure there are others.

Except goldfish, I don't think other pets are appropriate to stay in the office.

Someone in our office occasionally brings his dog in if there is no one around at home to take the dog out at lunch time. It is really no problem and quite entertaining. BTW I am allergic to dogs but as it doesn't jump up and lick my face I am fine with it.

I work in a prison and can't even bring a phone into work, let alone a small furry live thing.

Oh I don't know, all those desks to lay on and keyboards to curl up on to annoy people, all those waste paper bins to get into to play with the paper, I am sure a few cats would enjoy the chaos they would cause .

Absolutely not! A former colleague used to sometimes bring his dog to work. I was highly allergic to it, it was ridiculous as I was ill all day every time he brought it in.
I am a pet lover (have my own non-allergenic dog!) but it's pure selfishness to expect others to put up with your pet.
