If they know that she has been racist then yes she should be put off, just like Misha should if they know what she did. If the producers know that offensive comments are being made backstage, espetially bullying (racism/sexism/homophobia), then the contestant should be put home.

Net posts with exclamations are cheap. You, I and pretty much everyone else with any wit would keep mouths firmly shut while retreating from much, much worse stuff, in various RL scenarios.

"Serious intolerance" is the folk demanding punishment, as opposed to more thoughtfully, tolerantly, wanting something fixed properly. An analogy for that attitude would be schools immediately excluding every difficult pupil instead of putting all those considerable resources into trying to "turn them around".

But there's a big difference between children at school (everyone is entitled to an education) and a contestant on the X-Factor who could potentially receive a record contract at the end. It's one thing to help difficult people get on with their lives and have equal chances. It's another to help a grown adult stay in a competition where the gains of being there are so much more.

They are all very lucky to be where they are and any bad behaviour and upsetting or bullying ( especially in the house since they have to live there and so can't get away from that) should not be tolerated.

Two wrongs don't make a right, especially when there is no proven evidence of a wrong in the first place.

The Golden Rule essentially states either of the following:

One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.

One should not treat others in ways that one would not like to be treated.
