For me its a toss up between Alta Rica and Dowe Egberts, but I usually just drink the Nescafe classic of Maxwell House brands, just because they are cheap in Home Bargains and the Pound Shop.

For me it used to be Dowe Egberts Gold. Last week I bought that Kenco Millicano Wholebean, I'm very impressed and I think it's going to become my instant of choice. It's about as close to real coffee as I've tasted in an instant, and in fact it's probably more "real" than certain coffee shops serve.

I can't help but thinking there was a thread about this a while back?

Happy shopper value instant. It's great for staining wood but I wouldn't let it near my mouth.

Not favourite for taste but fairly nice and really cheap is co op own brand, its fair trade too (I'll only ever buy fairtrade coffee and think everyone else should too)

I don't drink instant any more at home because ground coffee is so much nicer, but I keep a jar of Cap Colombie for visitors who don't want to wait.

I'm a coffee snob. Freshly ground Kenyan Peaberry for me. Like evil c I just keep a spare jar of instant in for visitors... Those with no taste buds who insist they prefer instant!

I;ve found myself drinking instant recently for the first time in about 10 years (my kitchen is being re-done and is out of action !)

I started with a sainsbury own brand and it was OK

Next day i bought Gold Blend and that was much nicer so i chucked the sainsbury one away

I might give that whole bean one a go..........I think my local supermarket has it but it cost twice as much as gold blend ?

    oops............:o

Just noticed that the 'Gold Blend' I've been having for the last few days isn't Gold Blend at all...........

It's Sainsbury Gold Roast, all done up in an identical jar to proper Gold Blend.............sheesh, those supermarkets know how to shift their own brand products !

    Anyway, it's perfectly nice.............:)

Got the Millicano Whole Bean today and that's good as well

Real Gold Blend should be nicer than the Sainsburys copy.

I usually wait until it's on offer and then stock up. :)

    Jacobs Kronung.

It's a German coffee which I brought back with me when there on holiday.

I will get future jars via the internet.

I tried the millicano and wouldn't buy it again. I like avery strong coffee and, for the price, this coffee was such a disappointment.
