What is the difference between "is ok" and "neutral" ? Was it done to split the votes of those who were not against the "crotch clutch"?

I mean an action is either ok, or it's not. How can there be a 3rd option?

George W Bush said those who are not with us are against us. Others would say who is George W Bush?

It was crude and unnecessary - lost points from the judges IMO - Craig wasn't too pleased !

**feels she entered Victorian Britain**

I obviously should start wearing dresses as well **stares at appropriate Zoe thread**

I think we see far worth things in adverts. Clutching your crotch is kind of minor, not a big deal, you know, people die of horrible diseases. Explain to your kids why people might do that (and why women might rub their breasts during a dance).

Third option is the 'don't give a stuff' option

See, those options are far less biased now

I'm abstaining. I have no objection to it from a moral point of view but I'd like to be able to keep my dinner down thanks and that's difficult when Mr Savage has his hand cupped round his baby carrot and couple of petit pois.

I voted not ok for this poll. I don't really give a damn about the watershed part of it, (I have 2 boys aged 7 & 10 and I hardly think it's going to corrupt them) I just don't think anyone should do it at any time. It's just a REALLY ugly move!

IMO.
This is pretty much my view on it as well. I don't think it's doing anything to the "children" it's just a really ugly dance move that wasn't any better when Jackson himself was doing it.

Is there going to be one on boobcam too?

I'm an anti on the poll btw - not for the watershed aspect but 3 strikes and you just gotta be out!

I voted against.

It added nothing to the dance and didn't say much for Ola's choreographing skills. I'd have preferred more dance content.
Never mind Ola's choreography skills. It didn't say much for Robbie's lovemaking skills. *shudder

Bonnie by all means boobcam poll away if you like. I don't want to become typecast for X-rated polls. I am sometimes respectable you know.

I'm in the 'can't be bovvered to be bovvered' camp.

I can't see what family viewing or the watershed have to do with it though. It's a bit crass and crude (in both senses) but I hardly think it'll scar anyone's little treasures.

I'm more '' and '' than '' or ''.

Yup, me too. It's interesting how we all interpret even the poll - I chose 'not ok' because I found it distasteful, but I'm definitely not in the 'not in front of the children' or 'don't scare the horses' camp. Yet others have chosen the neutral option despite feeling the same.

Anyway, I'm not surprised that half of us think 'not ok' - I rather thought this would be the prevailing opinion.

Me too, All a bit "meh" to the whole thing.

When you consider the amount of female flesh on display and some of the "risque" moves, what harm is there in a few crotch clutches? Is the furore more about who did the clutching rather than the fact it was done?

There's been a lot of defence offered by some, who want to justify the inclusion because they feel it won't influence any young children who are watching.
It's a bit of pointless submission, as I'd agree no such individual incident will have such an effect, it's the continual exposure to unsuitable images and situations that does the damage.
The main point of the objectors, was that the gesture was very overt, inappropriate and totally unnecessary in a ballroom dance.
There can't be any argument for that.

Neutral. I felt the dance wasn't very good and the crotch squeezes didn't detract or add anything. Robbie has been more charming in previous weeks though.

Voted against.

I appreciate a lot of people found it entertaining, but others found it offensive.

At best it was vulgar and inappropriate for a show based on Ballroom/Latin dancing and should be kept where it belongs with hip hop & Street.

I don't go along with the "celebs can only do what the pros tell them" as they can - and do - refuse moves they feel uncomfortable with. As Ola's choreography is usually so good, I wonder if this was Robbie's idea?

Wasn't offended and don’t think it’s a watershed issue. But it was crass and cringeworthy so, based solely on issues of taste (mine), I’ve voted ‘not OK’.

Still, it achieved its objective - lots of 'controversy' and lots of newspaper coverage.

BIB, I totally agree.

I voted not ok; I'm fairly sure it won't corrupt children but I don't think it was a appropriate for the show; and it was just a bit icky for me.

There was something very unpleasant about that crotch clutch.. even after the watershed I would have preferred not to see it. I dont think it was in the slightest attractive and definitely not sexy, just downright ugly!

BIB - Are you serious? Ola has so much previous for this it's not even funny! Andrew Castle headbanging, Kenny Logan wafting his kilt and giving an eyeful, Chris Hollins playing the bongos on her bum, Ola poledancing with her face in the crotch of her latest celeb! Bring back any memories?
