I voted not ok. Not a watershed issue, but it just doesn't generally belong in a ballroom/latin dance...whether you are choreographing to an iconic song and dance video or not. Copying the dance moves from a video that has nothing to do with latin dancing is just lazy in my opinion. I'd have said that ballroom/latin dancers competing occasionally find themselves dancing to iconic songs but they don't start changing their choreography to mimic the song.
Plus the crotch grabbing move looks ugly and vulgar whenever it is done. Last edited by Ballroom-B. : 05-11-2011 at 11:00. Reason: added sentence |

Good point about ballroom dancers occasionally dancing to iconic songs, but they still manage to choreograph vibrant and original routines to them without resorting to the copying lazy route. Your last comment I completely agree with! |

BIB - Are you serious? Ola has so much previous for this it's not even funny!
Andrew Castle headbanging, Kenny Logan wafting his kilt and giving an eyeful, Chris Hollins playing the bongos on her bum, Ola poledancing with her face in the crotch of her latest celeb! Bring back any memories?Have to ask - sorry to be ignorant - what does BIB mean? |

A scholarly work on Ola would be expected to include at the end a BIBliography section, listing her previous.

I hold up my hands in defeat - you are quite right, what you say does bring back memories.
Have to ask - sorry to be ignorant - what does BIB mean? BIB -Bit in bold. ![]() And no worries hun, it's only this year that she's started to annoy me with her lazy, uninspired, regurgitated choreography! |

It's ok - not my cup of tea, mind. Too cringey.
![]() It's not like it's going to be done every week. And more than likely kids have seen it before on MJs videos. |

OK, I know I wont win any praise for this comment, but there is a little part of me that thinks the disapproval is a little homophobic (and no I am not in any way implying that Robbie Savage is gay!).
What I mean is that on a daily basis, woman we see woman asserting their sexuality all over theplace and no one really seems to mind so much. I think the real reason people were offended by this is because it was a sexualised move directed at another guy which would appear to make many people uncomfortable. As soon as a male shows sexual moves towards another people gt upset (whereas sexless campness they are comfortable with). People say this move was shocking and corrupting, but it tames in comparison to Rhianna's sexually provocative moves on last years X-Factor which I think is far more corrupting towards the young of today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6mm8...eature=related |

It didn't particularly even register with me that it was 'directed' at Craig (or was it Len?) - it was just at the judges. I wasn't offended by it, but think it was lame and vulgar, but it would have been equally lame and vulgar had he done it in Alesha's face Had one of the lady contestants gone up to the judges' desk and pushed her cleavage into the judges' faces and licked her lips lasciviously, it would be equally crude and inappropriate (without necessarily being 'corrupting'). I'm not disgusted, but I do think it's lazy, tacky and tedious choreo. I think the 'shocking' and 'corrupting' tag is an overstatement - most people here seem to think it was inappropriate or vulgar or yucky or ugly - take your pick - (or else couldn't care less) but I don't see much shock or outrage or any homophobia. You may need to go to the Daily Wail for that
