Vodafone CS says Samsung Galaxy S Plus is an upgrade to S2?
I am due an upgrade from my desire on Vodafone pay monthly. When I asked for prices on the S2 I was told that the Plus is replacing it and I can get it at a lower monthly cost.
I was told the S2 is being phased out as it was deemed too large and the plus has a faster processor. However, I did a quick search myself and although it is a newer phone it is certainly not a better phone. It may have a 1.4Ghz processor but it is only single core. It has a 4" screen and a 5MP camera. The CS chap refused to offer anything less than £36 a month for the S2 and £25 for the Plus. He also said the prices for the S2 will be coming down in the next few weeks due to it being discontinued and the Plus will increase in price as it will be the new flagship phone. Because of all this I have done the only thing I could and asked for my PAC code. I would dearly like to stay with Vodafone but if such nonsense is now the norm then it is time to get an other operator. |

Update
I have just had a call from retentions (partly why I asked for my PAC code). Not a mention was made of the S Plus but I was offered the S2 free at £26 a month 600min unlimited Text 500mb internet 500mb BT openzone. On a 24 month contract. Could of got a slighly better offer elsewhere but apart from one CS agent, Vodafone have been pretty reliable. |

Fact is that the S2 still has the most expensive to make screen.
I imagine only the iphone will cost them more. |
