hellooo everyone
I love M in a flat cap
not particularly a lover of the hats themselves but he always looks great in one. And as you say he does like his layers......he really seems to feel the cold poor sausage.
Thank you soo much Emma for those AT pics yesterday. You all know what AT did to me
it wasn't the guyliner itself that caused the fuss for me - as you say most of the male pro's had it that night for the group dance and others had it at times....Jimi and Harry this year. But none of them even caused a raised eyebrow. I have no idea why it was so hot but it was ...... I'll go with your theory cos I like it
Thats really interesting Emma and I agree. Without dragging up old gripes the whole AS episode was really sad for me as I think it was deliberately under-appreciated. I loved the choreography and I thought it was a fabulous and brave contrast to the all-out knicker-waving latin of the week before. No one else has ever had that much versatility for me but that wasn't credited.
Agree completely about the red blouse - hideous.
On the training time......it would have been very interesting to see the effect a few extra hours would have had. Someone on twitter yesterday found a record of training times for that series and it listed P&J as highest followed by M&A and then K&A with about 10 hours less in total. I find that impossible to believe to be honest and I wonder how that was calculated as the training times weren't given during the series were they? If it was time spent together then possibly - but it seemed that alot of the time for M&A was spent travelling. Having said that K&A did have at least 1 less week to train at the start so taking into account they'd presumably have practiced at least 10 hours that week then M&A were still behind.
I think a few extra hours would have made a huge difference to M's confidence at least.
I was quite intrigued by aliona's different approach this year. I don't think she necessarily started out with that idea as her cha cha with harry on week one was very 'aliona' for me - and hence my favourite dance of the series for them. However she did then seem to calm things down and tow the line alot more with the result that I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. I think what it came down to was that with Matt she had a partner who would basically do whatever she suggested and do it well but they didn't have the time needed to really polish and perfect the routines. With Harry I think the opposite applied. He obviously could also dance everything well but - for me - didn't have much of a stand out factor. Their best bet was to perfect the basic things which they had the time to do.
Horses for courses and all that. Knowing the best approach for different partners is part of her job I guess.
...but if harry could backflip it might have all been a different story
Of all the M&A dances the only one I though didn't work in part was the showdance but I'm 100% convinced that was due to A's injury. There were a couple of moments where it seemed something was missing and I suspect that was where the backflips etc she'd been practicisng during the week should have been. I still loved it for what it was.....what they wanted to do rather than what they 'should' do
EDIT : OH for goodness sake!!!! bloomin' smiley police (frowns & stomps off.....)

Still it may gave been a bit chilly on the walk so the mb bonce needs headgear! Never mind, in a couple of months time Matt will no longer require a hat. Roll on Spring!

I wasn’t a fan of guyliner to be honest. On Halloween special night, all the guys (from senior Anton to junior Jared) were in guyliner but only 2 got my appreciation. One was Matt Baker, the other was Matthew Cutler. They both looked gorgeous and hot, and (no bias opinion here, as I like them quite a lot for different reasons) Matt B added a little extra; that is, his hot and sexy look couldn’t take away his cuteness and adorableness from him at all. It is such a rare personality that contrasts in one person at the same time.

I don’t like Matt’s AS red shirt cos it looked too baggy when he danced around. I didn’t bring us chances to see his beautiful lines and postures. It could have been better if it was a white shirt, some sort of transparent one, and shouldn’t be put in the trousers. AV’s dress was beautiful though. Her hair colour became more shining from week 5 so it looked rather hot and unique to look at. Some of my friends envied her and braved enough to dye their hairs red.
Their dances I would like to see once again are Charleston, AS, AT, Rumba, and Paso (not in particular order though) cos’ I genuinely think they were superbly choreographed as well. I just wished Matt could have spared a day or half from CF filming to add it to his training hours. For their showdance, if AV could take out a few little pauses, it would have been absolutely show-stopping routine, for me at least.
I wonder what AV thoughts (as a choreographer, not as a pro dancer) are by now. Would she really regret that she did create traditional routines on Series 8 to win favour and gain supports from the judges? Or would she keep them as her life time masterpieces? That’s a good question, only the lady herself has the answers.”
