OOh I don't think I wish to know that Cass. OH watches The Tube as his work is aligned with transport in London. I wonder if OH has heard of this strange phenomenon

A fun-filled show tonight but with a serious VT on Combat Stress. The OS certainly veers from the sublime to the ridiculous as we had all the 'pants' jokes, darling Matt having to listen to such words as gussets, and right at the end having to hold up pics of obnoxious ripped underpinnings. Not a pretty sight when you're having your evening lasagne.

Glad you had an excellent day with your dad Cass, and now you're gearing up for your fab holiday and getting all packed tomorrow. Don't expect you can believe that in a couple of days you will be bathed in sunlight and drinking the sangria in a bar with your friends. Lucky you! Hope you find a closet bakerette with whom you can share MB luurve Expect you've got the emergency supplies with you!

Off for me coffee, and will be back to say goodnight.......

Afternoon to all!

Yes, that sounds a good sized audience KK

As usual completely thudded out by the end of the prog so didn't hear who the guest is tonight. Wonder whether a-list or c-list

Looking after poorly grandson at the moment so I'm going nowhere today.

Hola to you as well. Getting to grips with the domestic chores as afternoon off and feeling more like my old self.

Really Cass - do we need to give you any ideas??? Are you not a B*******e first and foremost. Have you your emergency supplies packed in your trusty hand baggage - don't leave it "unaccompanied". There are some things that insurance cannot cover.

If we move whilst you are enjoying the high life having a drink or three (hic) dancing the night way and maybe find a kindred spirit or two, a key will be left under the Matt and a room allocated for you use

SG I wondered if ther is any CF filming this week as a trip home is on the cards - could this be connected to the SR mile which is going through D*****m as it starts on Friday. Maybe killin' 2 birds with one stone. No 2 son is doing his bit on the 25th for SR.

Must admit that the array of unsavoury undergarments made my already queasy stomach churn a tad more. Hope they were all clean Wouldnt even grace my shoe cleaing box!!!

Good figures again last night - lets keep up the good work

Back later (minus the duster of course)

Hello,

Yes, I was wondering about the sports relief mile start on Friday. Didn't know it was going through Durham (presume that's the name you're talking about LE). That would be a good reason for Matt not to be filming CF this weekend. Or, knowing Matt, he'll probably end up doing all three! I hope he's there for the start of the race and it's not all left to CE and Alex. I also hope they do some sort of programme on the RC use of money outside of TOS. I mean TOS is already good but would like to see it get a wider audience as for David Walliams.

What a b*****r Still as you say if you were at the airport you'd need to work 3 weeks of nights to pay for it Its a minefield with airlines with all the add ons
15k would just about account for the shoes
Rita - The TOS SR mile thingy starts in Scotland on Friday and is going through the North East - am not sure at what point but assumed it would be a good excuse to go home if itds that weekend. Am sure we can chek on the website. Wonder what M&J will do for their mile at Buck Palace on the 25th

Cass, have a great holiday if we don't speak before you leave. We'll miss you.

Bemoaning the fact that we have no water since 4pm. You don't realize how often you use the stuff till it goes missing. Earth's most precious resource.

I have a couple of bottles of tap water in the fridge that I always keep because I like cold water, but would love to have a shower, brush my teeth, do the washing up. Just before it went off I was making a chocolate and hazelnut roulade which means I have traces of melted chocolate, meringue and cream just about everywhere. One of the muckiest things to be making and not fun not to be able to wash up after.

I've watered the cats - that's the main thing. Nothing else I can do. There's a group of men working away in a hole they've dug outside. It's dark now so they've set up lights and everything. I guess they're planning on fixing it tonight because they haven't set up any standpipes or anything.

I need my Matt fix!

Ah thank you Rita, i will miss you all and Matt of course

Have just painted my nails, now as a nurse who never wears nail varnish it was a challenge

Have got some of that crackle stuff, you put a layer of colour on, then a coat of the crackle which is black and it then crackles, clever stuff looks like zebra markings

Not sure how long i can look at it, must stick the nail varnish remover in the case!

Nearly 6.57, my last TT for a week

You sound very glamorous Cass with your fancy nails - as you say, it's a novel thing for you as you can't usually wear nail polish! I haven't heard of the crackle type of varnish, but then I rarely wear nail polish - my horrible hands! Have a fab holiday, you deserve a lovely restful (?) time.

Poor you, Rita, with the water situation...I do hope the engineers do their stuff and get the water flowing again. We are going to have water bans due to shortages in the reservoirs and my poor plants will wither, but that's not as bad as not having any water at all! Good luck with licking the chocolate/hazelnut off your spoons whilst you're waiting.

Glad you are feeling better Lotus, so many bugs going round at the moment. Sounds as if you've got your oomph and joie de vivre back as the duster has been broken out and whisked around the house

Off to watch telly, I wonder what's on.......

No, the men have gone, taken their ladders, lamps and trucks with them, and guess what - we have water! Yay.

I know you have a hosepipe ban in the UK. Let's hope it rains soon. It's about managing water too, isn't it. Some think the next major war will be over water as the planet heats up and it does really become a scarce resource. Imagine if someone were to lay claim to the Nile for instance, which currently provides water for so many?

Anyway, lovely TT tonight. Matt looked just utterly, absolutely gorgeous in his dark sweater and light shirt. Fabulous. Both guests were good too, but I preferred Andrew. I just love it when Matt does his hearty, throaty, laugh which he did at the thought of Andrew in a mini skirt. And I do think he prefers the more serious subjects. He seems very interested when something serious is discussed, and a bit bored and mechanical sometimes with lighter subjects. I'm not saying he would be good as a serious political interviewer, but I do think he would be great at something a little heavier than TT. He's great at TT too of course, but worth more.

Due to me messing up what files were on my MacBook and what were on the iMac at home I'm having to skip a week of One Show's as I don't have them with me! So we're on to picspamming the abbreviated Countryfile from Cornwall on the 26th of March where Matt still managed 10 minutes of airtime to everyone else's getting cut

And now the boring bit you can all ignore . I thought this was a fantastic report for Countryfile in that it covered the topic well without talking down to people or feeling like it had been cut. With the geologist for example they talked about drilling and then just immediately referred to core samples without feeling the need to explain what they were. They didn't question South Crofty's viability but I suppose that would be impolite as their guest

The reality is the tin price still probably isn't high enough for the mine to be viable commercially. They're relying on finding the rare earth metals like indium to make it profitable. Miners from other areas (like Geevor) don't think that's likely. But there is a strong political will to make this succeed and if the price goes up enough or they find new deposits it might work which is something the Redruth area badly needs…

Hello all – has anyone known where Matt was filming CF last Friday?

Great show tonight, the guest seemed very chatty. A few seconds before the end of the OS was the most worthwhile to watch cos Matt and everyone were dancing…

KK, I saw Daily Mail article a couple of month ago as well. I couldn’t be wrong cos I remember the little Matt’s photo. At that time I thought it was an old one as almost all of the contents were nothing new. It must be floating somewhere and now DM has posted again as a new one. I find it a bit strange.

Anyway one of the main reasons I admire Matt most is his fighting spirit (I am not sure I use the right term though). Having a good nature and being very nice and lovely person isn’t a free ticket to the bullies. To my experience, very nice people can tolerate and forgive than the normal people do but if the bullies take advantage on their good natures beyond their level of tolerance, they won’t get it for free. At young age, minor physical reactions may involve but the adults do the way they should do. I mean responding intellectually and professionally at a good timing.

Btw did anyone notice that Matt’s voiceover saying Jules H brought his new puppy on CF, a week before last Sunday? I want to see Matt and Annie on CF too. I couldn’t stop thinking of Matt doing some stunt on a circus when I saw JH in training at a circus. Matt did those kinds of things effortlessly as I saw a short clip on youtube.

Some of Matt’s photos on CF 2010, if you haven’t seen them yet, I think M’s so natural and so adorable.

Someone has posted old screencaps of Matt from CF on a forum recently. I remember those were from a segment replayed on CT in 2010 presented by Liz Bonnin from bang goes the theory. Some of you might see that segment where Matt attempted to embrace a traditional bath (bucket and very cold water). I didn’t actually watch the whole CT so all I remember was LB linking M’s segment saying the lovely Matt Baker …and then I saw he was on, took of his jumper and jeans, in his shorts, let someone else pouring down the cold water on him. As LB remarked at end of the segment , “very brave Matt Baker”; he's definitely a brave soul.
Here, the links of screencaps

As Matt said in an interview, he isn’t a kind of guy who pumping iron bar. I think he meant he doesn’t do weightlifting to get a body like those on the magazine covers in topless or whatever. I think he’s in a great shape and toned up by doing some activities he gets involved in his working life.

KK, fabulous pics from great CF episode, thank you. It gave me some insights to the life of the miners of those days. I can see Matt’s empathic nature there. He looked lovely as awlays.

Have to admit I felt like shouting shut up at the screen - very nice lady but could talk the hind leg off the proverbial donkey.
I feel too that more serious subjects as was discussed tonight does interest him more. A good debate tonight with a very good political guest. However both he and AJ can now laugh at the randomness of the show which I feel helps it along.

Looked wowsers tonight,,loved the whole ensemble,

Wonder what delights we will have in store with the inimitable T&D???? Bolero last year complete with tights???? Abd this time......
